This is simple to some, harder for others. But here are the steps...

1. Think of a spell you'd like to work.
2. Think of what the spell needs (candles, blessed pens, etc.)
3. Be careful though; Some candles represent other things, the spell could go horribly wrong, so in this step take SERIOUS PRECAUTION!
4. The old fashioned way is to think of a rhyme, for examle, a sun spell I made (makes the sun come out, worked twice. =S) *No ingrediants needed;

"God of the Sun,
Hear my plea.
We'd like some glee,
Let the sun be free!"

Cheezy? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Doesn't work? No.
5. Try to make it longer or shorter, whatever you'd like. But, at the minimum, try to keep it at 4 lines or more. But don't make it obscenely long, like 20 lines you have to repeat 3 times, too hard...
6. Include thoughts you have to think for it to work. For example, in my sun spell you had to keep thinking of the sun. If you don't, it won't work (probably why it didn't work today...), or it could've backfired, it might've made it hail, or sent out a hurricane instead, or whatever. But make sure you include SERIOUSNESSLY SERIOUSLY SERIOUS PRECAUTION!!!! You want a wish, think of the wish spell and what you'd like and it'll come. If you want an Xbox 360, yet you're thinking of how your cat just recently died or whatever, it might send you your dead cat instead. o-o So BE CAREFUL.
7. Have focus in the spell. You can't just mumble the spell and stare at that hot girl you can't speak to. You MUST stay focused, or again, it could backfire, or if you're lucky enough, it won't work.
8. If you're sharing it with a friend, include EVERYTHING I just said; precautions, items, and FOCUS!!! You need 'em all.

That concludes pretty much all of it. It may work, it may not, but hey, making up spells is fun! If it doesn't work, create another, eh?
