Love Magick and Free Will

There are quite a few different subtopics in Love Magick, such as attraction, crushes, obsessions, self-love and erotica. However, most of this is labeled as controversial for the sole reason of its tendency to go against the free will of an individual. Going against free will is very dangerous, especially regarding love magick, since it can create false feelings for a person that would otherwise go unnoticed. Whether or not you still wish to use it in spite of this is entirely up to you, but it's best not to be employed if you're a practitioner of Wicca or a believer in the concept of karma.

How do you know if your spell goes against free will?

If your spell or ritual is geared towards attracting or changing the feelings of a specific person, then it will undoubtedly go against free will. Alternatively, if the spell is geared towards the general idea of attracting love, then it doesn't impact free will because there is no individual target and the receiving love could come in many different forms.

Healthy love magick can coincide with the law of attraction in that what ones sends out and focuses on will ultimately come back to them in the form of energy. Positive energy reaps positive results as negative energy reaps negative results. Remaining self-conscious is vital since negative energy and otherwise unpleasant emotions can leak into your spellwork. This is similarly true in regards to toxic environments, so be sure to cleanse before doing any form of magick.

There are many ways you can go about using love magick in a healthy manner: affirmations, visualization, dolls, charms, amulets, sigils and potions. Even just general ritual work will do the trick. If you still feel lost on what's morally acceptable, I've provided a few examples of safe love magick down below. As a side note, love spells are most successfully performed at specific times due to symbolic association.

Love Sigil:

Start off with a phrase of what you wish to happen in your life. For instance, let's use the phrase,

"Love will come my way."

Now take your phrase and put it in present tense. Also, if you'd like, add an adverb for a little extra flavor.

"Love is always coming my way."

Next, take out the vowels until only the consonants remain.

Now, take out any repeating letters.

With the remainder of these letters, form a shape or symbol of your own creation. You can either charge it, or go a different route involving chaos magick and ignore it for a month before waiting for results. This is said to let the subconscious do the work for you.

Basic Candle Magick Spell:

It is advised you cleanse your body and your environment before attempting. Whether or not you wish to cast a circle is entirely up to you.

First, begin to anoint your candle in oil. Once it is properly slathered, light and ponder over what kind of love you wish to attract.

Do you seek sexual love, romantic love, or a bit of both?

Place your hands on each side of the candle and imagine the energy flowing from your palms and into the candle. You could visualize this as a shade of pink to symbolize the attraction, or green to symbolize the heart chakra, but neither are necessary in reaping results.

Visualize yourself going on dates or spending time with another person. This could be at a park, a movie theater, or even at your own house. Further visualize the two of you cuddling, hugging, or doing any intimate activity you wish to occur. Try to replicate your elation in this visual at finally finding a partner to spend your days with. Try not to make them look like anyone specific, but you may change hair and eye color to suit your general preferences.

If you wish to invoke an entity or the elements during this process, you may similarly do so. This is merely based on personal preference, but it is advised to leave an offering if you invoke a deity for the purpose of lending energy.

Gods/Goddesses: Aphrodite, Venus, Cupid, Eros, Frigga, Hathor, Parvati, Aengus

Angels: Chamuel, Raphael

After you feel like you've contributed a fair amount of energy, or begin to grow weak, cut off the flow and stop your visualization.

Snuff the candle or let it burn out. Do not blow out the flame.

Simple Love Sachet:

Herbs/Flowers: Basil, Thyme, Patchouli, Rose, Lavender, Oregano, Fennel

Crystals: Rose Quartz, Rhodochrosite, Rhodonite, Malachite, Green Aventurine.

Mix all of the herbs together in your sachet and add the small crystal/stone if you've decided to use it. If you wish you may add a chant or affirmation as you shake them up properly.

I.e. "Love will come to me in threes. This is my wish, so mote it be."

Proceed to visualize love oozing from this bag and be sure to carry it in your pocket whenever you're hoping to attract a special someone.
