This is a ritual you may preform in the morning to give more recognition to the Elements, God, and Goddess.
Items needed:
Athame or Wand
Picture of a Pentacle
Picture of your patron God
Picture of your patron Goddess
Hang the picture of the pentacle at eye level and hang the picture of your patron God to the right of it and your patron Goddess to the left of it. (When I did this, I simply taped these near my altar, though this isn't necessary.)
If your tradition calls for it, cast a circle.
Take your Athame or Wand and point it to the top point of the Pentacle, saying:
"Blessed is the Spirit which gives us life."
Next, point it at the top right point of the Pentacle, saying:
"Blessed is the element of Water which hydrates our bodies."
Next, point it at the bottom right point of the Pentacle, saying:
"Blessed is the element of Fire which gives us warmth."
Next, point it at the bottom left point of the Pentacle, saying:
"Blessed is the element of Earth upon which we live our daily lives."
Lastly on the Pentacle, point the Athame or wand at the top left point of the Pentacle, saying:
"Blessed is the element of Air, which fills our lungs with each breath we take."
Say:
"Separated they are blessed, but combined they form the sacred Pentacle that we depend on each day. For if even one of the blessed elements is taken from us, we could not live."
Point your Athame/Wand at the picture of your patron God, saying:
"Sacred is the God who sheds his blood for us each year at harvest."
Point your Athame/Wand at the picture of your patron Goddess, saying:
"Sacred is the Goddess who ages as the wheel of the year turns."
Say:
"Ever so sacred are the God and the Goddess who together created the Earth and breathed life into the first humans. I thank thee, sacred Pentacle, and thee sacred God and Goddess. For without ye, I could not and would not live. But because I have ye in my life, I am blessed."
Take this time before closing the circle to meditate.
Side note: Any of the words for the God and Goddess parts may be changed to better suit who you acknowledge. And if you want, you could also light your God and Goddess candles when giving recognition to them.
