This is a very basic and simple form of meditation that'll boost your ablitlty to focus.

Materials(optional):

White candle

Matches

1. Sit somewhere comfortable and quiet. Cross your legs and hold your palms flat up. (Make sure your back is straight).

2. Breathe in deeply through your nose and hold your breath for a couple seconds. Breathe out slowly through your mouth.

3. Keeping this breathing pattern light the candle and take a few moments to simply stare at the flame

4. Slowly start to clear you mind and focus only on the candle flame

5. Watch the fire dance, don't focus on anything in particular about the fire just let your mind focus on it.

6. If you haven't already by this point completely clear your mind from anything but the fire.

7. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, letting your body relax but keep your back straight (helps with the breathing)

8. Visualize the fire, see it with your mind eye. Spend a few minutes thinking about the flame and nothing else.

9. Slowly bring yourself back to reality.

10. Open your eyes and extinguish the flame.

Note: the candle in this spell is used as a placebo of sorts. It represents an idea. When you find that you can focus on the flame with out problems, remove the candle and replace it with a thought. This technique will slowly bring you into a state where meditation is almost second nature.
