One is that it's the other way around, society romanticizes the most common Therian breeds. It's possible that for so long Therians authors have written on occasion about their kind from a more fantasized point of view and thus influenced the modern day opinions of these animals.
Another is the dreaded idea that some of these "Therians" are roleplayers and not really Therians at all. I, personally, do believe in Therians however I also believe what a friend of mine said may be true; up to 90% of the people who claim to be Therians are roleplayers and it's possible, in fact highly likely, that not all Therians know what they are.
A third theory (and this I just thought up more for fun) is that you are losing your mind and simply imagining that everyone is romanticizing over the Therians. It won't be long before you hear creaking noises where there shouldn't be any sound and seeing shadows from places with no light... lol, joking, of course.
To be honest I think all we can come up with would be theories. Anyone who doesn't believe in Therians would likely tell you that people choose their favorite animal for what kind of Therian they are and then they roleplay the part, anyone who does believe in them may come up with a more thought through theory possibly resulting in some ideas like the two first ones I posted.
If we do not imagine how will things come to pass?
Whether people are just role playing or they actually are a "therian" as you call them, the truth of the soul is that we are one with the universe. If these beings exist then they need an outlet for there presents to be known. If they do not have a way to be heard then they will take one.
I know it sounds like possession but we will never understand what possesses people to behave as they do. All we can do is try to define it, however all that does is allow us to pass judgment on others.
Oh, the irony of life as we strive to achieve balance or meet in the common grounds where we all can exist together is a relatively peaceful way.
You may say I am a dreamer but I am not the only one!
I think it's mainly for the attention, but sometimes people see the need to be more than human. (Or for people to think that they are.)
(I said something like this before on some thread about how great people are, but we as people know all of our limitations and weaknesses... but we don't fully understand the weaknesses of other creatures... so we think of them as stronger than us.)
Well wolves are very well known as mystic animals... not that there is anything special about them.
imagine by a perfect circle, one of my favorite songs.
I think that what is being debated here is not the existence of possession but of people with souls that have certain animal characteristics or that have the soul of a spirit animal.
