Smells & Spirits?

I've been meaning to post this thread for a while now but I forget since it seems to come & go.

MY FATHER?

For no reason at all I get a VERY STRONG smell of smoke (like cigarrette smell) & no one else around me seems to smell it but me!

It has happened at home when I'm in my room, at my job when I'm by myself sitting at my desk & no one else is in the office, a couple of times it has happened when my husband's w/ me, I ask him to check outside to see if the neighbor is blowing smoke our way because I'm concerned for our son, he looks & there's no one there & specially he tells me he does't smell anything!

The smell of smoke seems to come & go & there isn't a specific time of the day it just happens. I know I'm not crazy even though I'm the only one that smells it.

THE WEARD, WONDERFUL, SCARY, TRIPPY, OVERWELMING THING AS I WAS ABOUT TO START WRITING THIS POST, "MY FATHER" CAME TO MIND!!!!!!!
My father passed away from prostate cancer due to execive smoking. As a little girl I smelled cigarrette smoke all through out the day even though my father tried to smoke away from my mother & I.

Could my father try to communicate w/ me through the smell of cigarrette smoke or to just let me know he's around?

I WOULD LOVE IT IF IT IS MY FATHER!
I've been trying to communicate w/ him, every time I pass by his picture I talk to him & ask him where he's been. At times I get a little mad at him because he hasn't come to me in dreams as he used to, but if it's him through the smoke smell then I've been an idiot for not realizing it sooner!

it could be your father i once had a similar experiance when i was a young girl i had a dog called maison and he used to always jump up on my bed and fall sleep after he had been out side in the rain and all i could smell in the night was wet dog (hes dead now bless his soul) well sometimes i smell wet dog at night and then ill call for the dog to come closer so i can cuddel it but there isnt anything there so i could well be your father

Spirits do communicate through smells and physical things if they have no other way of letting you know things, most of the time its just to reassure you that their ok where they are. well I think that anyway.

My own personal experience I smell pipe tobacco smoke if my papa's around (I used to always go buy it for him and I always remember the smell of his pipe from when I was little)
with my mum it's light bulbs the flicker of and on when I sense her around.
An other thing I have with smells is sometimes I can smell a musty stale smell around people, who shortly afterwards (in give or take a month or so down the line) end up dying..so i've associated that smell to the smell of death which I dont like kinda unsettles me when I smell it!

So I would say smells and spirits go hand in hand...some people smell the perfume that their loved might have worn or their favorite flowers, so I would say in my opinion your dad was just saying hi I'm still around dont worry about me.

well it seems you beat me to it, i was talking about this in the chat room, spirits carry a smell with them and may also retain physical likings to when they were alive. In my country we put perfumes on them to tell when they come back, so they will have a specific smell and they will come to mind. But sometimes if they died an alcoholic etc they will retain that smell of the item so i think its your father who came back.

It's avery cool experience that of you smelling your dead dog that comes to visit. I also love animals, specially dogs, I have 3 dogs now, I've had many dogs through out my life time & hope to see them all & live w/ them all again when I pass. Thanx for sharing your experience.

Your experience w/ your Papa is very similar to the one of me w/ my father. I guess we have that in common. I've heard about spirits communicating by turning on & off lightbulbs. I've also heard about the smell of perfume or flowers that are related to the dead of loved ones.

I also hear, smell, and see things that others don't. I often hear voices at night either calling my name or giggling. The other day I saw a pure black humming bird fly by in my house and disapear through a wall. When I'm in a room by myself, I will sometimes smell either roses or smoke. Though I'm not sure if it's just my imagination or I'm just a little crazy. The only people that I know that have passed away are both of my grandfathers and my mother's uncle, though I never really knew them very well so I don't think that they are trying to contact me, especially since the voices I hear are girl's voices.

well i dont think your crazy becouse last year i kinda went through that stage got head achs near graves and i kept hearing a voice but i could never make out what it was saying
