Every Tear Avenged Spell

I am new to spells, but have been desperate in love lately. I tried the Every Tear Avenged spell and was astounded by the speed at which my former lover came to me. It was literally less than an hour. I am interested in trying my abilities to see where they take me but don't want to cause any bad things to come my way. Is there a way to ensure that I'm not breaking any rules by casting spells? For instance, I wanted to cast a type of Bring My Lover back spell, but didn't want to take away his free will. I am trying not to bring anything back on myself threefold. Any advice?
