Salt problem

Last night i put salt along 2 window seals to my bedroom and now the salt is water.

Can someone please help or explain?

I had the same thing happen to me during a mountain retreat. One of the activities was watercoloring, and I tried to get a snowstorm effect by putting salt on a layer of watercolors. At sea level in a dry place it works really nicely, the salt absorbs the water and dries so you get a crystallized pattern. You can see the effect in step two, here.

In the mountains, though, when I put dry salt and some of it went onto dry canvas, they turned into water droplets and wouldn't dry even if I put it under a lamp for two hours and blew on it. I think because of the high humidity, the water droplets in the air were attracted to the salt, and the salt dissolves in the water it attracts. If you live in a place that gets really humid at night at this time, maybe the same thing happened.
