Was This a Stage?

Hello,
A few months ago, I started practising astral projection for a few days, but got scared on the third day. I visualized falling through a hole, and that made my body feel tingly, and I felt like I was falling out of no where. I kept trying to keep it up but I just stopped after a minute when nothing else further happened. When I got up, I felt so sick and dizzy and freaked out.
So now, I tried it again. This time I easily felt the falling, tingling feelings, but this time I saw white behind my eye lips, and received a vision of me floating in these white clouds. When I stopped, because nothing further happened, i again felt dizzy. Can anyone help me with what this was? I'm not an expert on Astral projection.
Thanks x

This sounds like classic beginner to astral projection progress. It does sound like you were actually getting somewhere and the separation was happening. When your astral and physical bodies split it does occasionally provide the person with sensations, many times it comes as tingles. The falling feeling could be one of two things in my opinion, you either were falling and didn't have a grip on how to climb (there are astral planes both above and below the physical) or it could be an illusion from the weightlessness you can get from astral projection.

The dizziness I'd say is because you're new to it, give your astral and physical bodies time to adapt to the method you're using for astral projection.

The ill feeling from the first time could be from you pushing yourself and the nervous, disturbed feeling you were getting. When I'm talking to people beginning with astral projection I tell them to practice focusing while relaxing, and to get a good grasp on what they're comfortable with when first starting out. Attempting astral projection can be exhausting so you need plenty of rest and relaxation. It's also a progressive practice that does not come instantly, you have to work at it regularly for a while before you can really begin to explore the higher or lower planes.

Thank you for your reply.
When I was relaxed, I imagined falling through a hole and falling downwards, like free-fall. Should I try to imagine floating upwards next time?

I would suggest that yes, unless you're willing to make effort in catching yourself from this free-fall.
