i've been searching for many ways to contact your spiritual dragon guide, and a lot of websites say that i must perform a ritual to invite over the dragon and also it needs to be in a waxing moon, but do meditation ,saying the call and alot of belief replace all that???

Most of the time the correspondences of doing it during a waxing moon or a Tuesday or whatever are optional, but don't confuse that for "replacing it with belief." As I've had to say so many times recently, reality really doesn't care what you believe. Whether or not you believe in calling dragon guides won't have much affect on whether or not its possible and what it requires.

You should really consider starting with something more basic, though. I know that you really want to do your dragon thing now, but it would stand a much greater chance of success if you were better versed in the basics.

dragon magick is not a religion, so you need footing in another path like Wicca before you can study dragon magick because it pretty much starts you on chapter 7 when having a religion it would start a chapter 1, if that makes any sense. i have always loved dragons, and have researched dragons since i was able to read. however i didn't start dragon magick until i was 5 years into witchcraft. dragon magick has no holidays or real deities, you incorporate dragons into your rituals and spells to gain their strength. the closest thing to a deity in dragon magick would be the ruling dragons of each element, or maybe a chaos dragon because some believe that chaos created the universe.

you don't need a dragon guide to learn, the first ritual i did was traveling to the dragons and asking to study along side them. a year or so later while meditating a dragon came along and has been with me ever since [sometimes i think about naming it, but i don't know] i wasn't looking for one, it just came by. it's also not a big European Dragon as many probably hope for, or a Marsupial Dragon which i was wanting to be my partner. it's a little blue dwarf dragon [or a butterfly, it moves around too much i can't see it's wings, but the face is a dwarf dragon] my point is having or not have a dragon guide isn't the end of the world, nor it is a must have in order to study.

basics you should master before dragon magick:
meditation
astral projection
circle casting
elements air, fire, water, earth and chaos

there are other things, but those are needed. the only rituals you need to do really is the introduction and the riding the dragon, everything else really is just for show in your clan. there could be more rituals, but it's the dragons who reveal rituals and spells.

perfect as in a perfect circle? not really, my coven casts them more oval like when inside.

depending on what you're doing you might want to cast it stronger. normally i go around once with three people, i focus my energy to cast it, the second lights the candles, the third rings a bell, but we're all focusing our energy on the casting. three times is best, go around the first time visualizing the light from your athame/wand/finger making a circle in the ground connecting to each candle. draw a pentagram in the air above each candle the second time light the candles, welcoming each element, then a third time with the bell [or athame or salt water, or incense] to make it really strong and shut it. you can then return to the alter, light the fifth candle for spirit [or chaos depending] then say the circle is now cast [stomp your foot if you wish]

there's plenty of articles on circle casting you can look up, this one's very brief and quick, but basically that's what you do. you can change it to suit your needs. myself i call the dragons of each element instead of the watchtowers. that's one of the things you do in dragon magick, you incorporate the dragons as such.

no. the pentagram with the point upwards isn't a sign of the devil. there is no devil in the craft, no all evil being, no dark force we pray to naked under the full moon while sacrificing kittens and babies and drinking goats blood.

what the up pointing pentagram is, it's a symbol of the four elements, the top point is Spirit. the circle is our version of church, it's holy ground where we invite the deities to join us. it's the reverse pentagram with the point down that's a symbol of satanism.
