Weird Marks

I have these weird horizontal marks on my back that go up the length of my spine. My family says they look like scratch marks. I don't really know what they are or why they're there.

I've had them for a over a year and they haven't bothered me until recently. My mother took me to the hospital and they had no idea what it was, which is kinda disturbing. =/

I was hoping you guys might be able to help me out.
