In my opinion you would be better off using a simple kitchen knife rather than making an athame out of Legos. Or skip the athame altogether and simply direct energy with your finger.

The athame is a tool of Air and the Intellect and is designed to "cut" through magical barriers and energies and to cast the ritual circle (cutting it away from the mundane world). That's why it is important that it has an edge to it. Something without an edge is not going to have the same effect.

I have to agree with lark on this one.

I have mostly read that an Athame is blunt! But with a very sharp point; used for carving candles! And also used in rituals, of course.
However, before Gerald Gardner, nobody practising witchcraft had heard of an Athame. My teacher formed the circle with her finger.
Crowley did write about knives and swords. I cannot remember reading anything about an Athame!
Personally I have never had one; nor a wand!

Just going to say, many Traditional Witches used and kept ritual blades which was before and after Gerald Gardners time.

An athame isn't used for any physical cutting, but cutting on an energetic and spiritual level. It is usually kept somewhat blunt still has an edge.

A boline is used for inscribing candles, cutting herbs and many more practical tasks in magick. It is kept sharp and in some traditions it is never used outside a circle.

But, answering the posters question, no I don't think a lego Athame would work really.

if you believe it will work, it will, though i doubt the energy flow would be the same. you can just use your finger to direct and cut the energy, or as Lark said, a kitchen knife.
