Spells that don't work?

I just found this site and got into magick and such and i find some of these spells on this site a little..scary.
Like turning in to a vampire or werewolf . I didn't think magic was that powerful or that things like this was actually possible . I have tried some spells some worked after a while and some didn't . I'm not really sure what to trust . For example do beauty spells actually work ? Can you really change your body ? has any one tried and succeeded? if so , i'd love to see that spell.

Those spells don't work. You can't use magic to modify your body or genetics in anyway. Magic can do many things but it has limitations and works within the realms of reason and logic. It is governed by natural, scientific law. Think of it like this, if you can't do it without magic then you can't do it with it either.

That being said, spells take time. Some can take days, some take weeks, etc. It really depends on the spell and the energy put into it.

When looking at the spells on this site (or making your own) use common sense and think it through. Does this spell seem to farfetched to be plausible? If so then it most likely wont work.

You cannot change into a mythical creature such as a vampire or werewolf. You cannot change your DNA, your eye color, or your appearance...but you can do a temporary glamour to make yourself seem more attractive. Magic does have its limits and must abide the physical laws of the Universe. You won't be able to fly, or teleport, or anything else that common sense will tell you isn't going to happen. A lot of the spells on here are so-called "fantasy" spells that aren't going to work no matter how hard you try.

Welcome to SoM. And you are right. Magick does have its limits for us. If you look, you will see most of the spellsinvolving vampires, werewolves, etc are in a heading labelled fantasy spells. Thats because they are just that. They are for fantasy and have no real world application. The beauty spells are mixed. Some work, but any of the ones that actually change your appearance (eg hair color/eye color spells) are fictional.

While the moderators do what they can to control what we call 'fluffy' spells, they cannot always keep up with it. And since there are some covens who do not monitor what spells are written, a lot of fluff can get out there very quickly.

But you are on the right track. Trust your instincts. Read up on what magick can and cannot do. We have plenty of threads in the forums covering this very topic. I would also suggest getting a copy of 'The Inner Temple of Witchcraft' by Christopher Penczak if you can. And if you have questions like this, you can always ask in the forums just like you did for this. We love to help.

I know if i were 13 i'd be fooled into believing that magick can do anything (thanks to Disney channel) but it is a little off putting cause i don't know what to trust

Awe, and you learn a very valuable life lesson. There will always be ridiculous, ignorant people that vomit their ignorance on the world, leaving us all frustrated and obligated to try and handle damage control. You will live with this the rest of your life.

if I were to make a list of what don't work this sight would over loode. Your goiing to have to go thru trial and error like the rest of us on your own untill your old enuff to be taken as a student.

Using common sense in looking at spells will help you distinguish which are real and what ones are fake or fluff. Fantasy means not real. Trick, of course, is not real. Magick follows the laws of nature. Keep that in mind when looking at spells and rituals. May you find what you seek. Blessed Be...
