I'm currently re-picking up my practice and warming back up. In order to finish, I'll need to find a new path to start working on. Now to be clear, by "path" I mean a practice. For example, some people will start learning Blood Magick, or Dragon Magick, Shaman work, Druid work, Celestial Magick, and so on.
Point being, there are many paths out there and I try to learn what calls to me the most. So, tell me what paths you have practiced or are currently practicing and why you chose that. Do you still practice it? What about some pros or cons?
I haven't learned what to start on next so hopefully this will help get those juices flowing!
In response to your forum, I myself am a former wiccan. I left the practice not becuase of pros or cons, it was simply not the right thing for me, as I didn't abide by the Wiccan rede..I never felt in touch or never celebrated the Wiccan sabbats..I didn't feel as if I wanted to continue practicing Wicca.
I am currently an eclectic solitary (sea, green, hedge, etc.) witch. I feel as if I don't fit into a certain religion at the moment, but I will continue to explore the different religions. I do worship deities but I'm not sure what religion that'd be because I'm not sure if I'm under the Pagan umbrella of religions. I simply do spells, make sigils, collect crystals, meditate...and so forth.
As for you, you can be and study and practiceany religion/lifestyle you'd like, it is not required for you to ask about different benefits of religion, find one that's right for you by researching and making sure that's one you want to work at.
If you're looking for a path, you should start with something you feel most connected to or comfortable with, whether that's sea witchery (working with the element of water, using shells, salt, sand, the moon), or Cosmic witchcraft, Kitchen, Green, Hedge, a lot more... But you choose, and if you need help, although it's not required, ask around for a certain practice you're interested in to get the tips and path information from them.

It is not mandatory to have a path in magic . There are many witches in the world who don't have a specific path (like me), they practise many paths at once and don't feel like to be limited to one path . Since there are times when some path appeals to you the most and sometimes some other path. It is natural human behavior. If you are too much confused about your path then better not waste your mind and energy thinking about it, this will stress you . And this won't be good for your health . But if you are just a bit confused then i have a solution. Just listen to your heart . It knows everything about you and your inclinations and it is the only one who can give you best decisions. I can feel you are doing a bit of overthinking on it . But, please don't detoriate your mental health.
