My coven is very new and very dedicated to teaching basics. I'm not going to throw spells into the spell books until I am sure my coven brothers and sisters are at a point to work on them. Even then I will more than likely keep it private to give them a better feel of what a real coven is about. Not just an online free for all coven.
calm down healer. there is a reason it is labeled debate. you have a good point. but there are covens on here that don't have a good reason like yours to not have stuff. they just don't. as far as im concerned yours should stay up although it isnt my choice anyways. actually you have a good plan, and i wish you the best of luck on that.
After a time that I decide, covens that are not about magic will be removed. Although I will not delete a coven just because they do not have spells, it is rather difficult to justify a coven on a spell website that does not have spells.
Oh Pet? And how are you going to Justify which covens contain magical content or not?
I suggest, since you are not a practitioner of magic, set up a voting system between moderators that review the covens, you are a great comp programmer, Pet, but you do not know anything about magic, so I suggest you leave it to your team of trusty moderators?
Wow,I never knew Pet didnt practice magick,Anyway. There are some covens on here with the highest membership and the biggest spell books, that are so far away from what magick is and how it should be viewd that they are not even seen as magick by those that take it seriously.
Ive yet to have one person show me that they have turned into a mermaid,or is actually half deamon half human. However the ones that offer that kind of false hope seem to be the biggest, and fastest growing.Would I keep them here?I dont know.
I think a coven that does teach magick should have spells relating to what they are about. Our Coven should it last will in fact teach a wide range of basic spells, not from one area of magick but from many different areas of magick.
Those will be found in our spellbook, and may or may not be public as Healer and I decide.
Some of the things we will be teaching ,will not be spells though,Medittion,Concentration,Energy Focus and manipulation,Visualization, these are things that cant be measured by how many spells are in a book, but SO many that come here lack.
If Pet can without predjudce sponser a website on somthing that he doesnt even practice,Why not allow him to be the one that decides if they are Practicing what they Preach, so to speak.Just my 2 cnts
i dont like the idea of mods being able to delete covens because what if one for some reason just doesnt like you? they could take you off just because they have someting against you.
in most cases if something is removed it's not due to a personal vendetta, it's usually due to a violation of some sort. I do however like the idea of the voting system, as it resembles the banning system. If it were to be placed upon the mods to do something like that, I'd say do it like the banning system where it takes 5 mods to remove the coven, that way it's fair and no vendetta can be asserted. But, as pet previously said, since it is his site, whether or not he practices magic, he will be the one to determine who goes and who stays.
