Telekinesis

Everyone has the potential for things like that, but that genetic switch that turns that potential into reality just isn't flipped in 99.99% of the population. You can expand your awareness and your senses through training to the point where you demonstrate what most people would call ESP, but I don't think this is true ESP in that all the input still comes from your senses, it is simply that you have learned to interpret the information more thoroughly. Manipulation of matter on a macromolecular level though is a whole different ball of wax that cannot be reproduced with our mental capabilities as is.

Now this is not to say that with time and effort you could not reproduce the effects via magical means, but it would not be telekinesis since you are not, strictly speaking, using only mental energy to move the object but are instead using your will to focus the energy around you to move the object. I feel certain that at some point in the history of our species that genetic switch will become more common place within the breeding population, but as for right now I think that telekinesis is an ability that only some people with the right genetics will have access to.
