I'm a 15 year old Ecletic Wiccan and I have noticed the same thing. I do not claim to be an almight being or anything of the sort. I'll admit I barely cast spells, I seek other forms of magick. It gives people a sense of importance if they lie and say they are powerful on the internet.
Well ya its easy to lie on the net.tho I don't lie involving the craft. I agree with ya healer. I just laugh when their reality crashes down in front of them. I'm actully a product of one of those parents who don't care what I watch as long as it isn't rated xx. I like to think I turned out ok.
One can just hope they realize what magick realize b4 the turn it to that creepy guy in the alley

I have a funny story to share..
I was doing my work at the library (finishing homework) when these 2 primary school kids were looking up women's breasts in a random Sex & Health Education book, and they were GIGGLING with joy.. I suppose it would have been a cartoon, but seriously..
What the heck!?
Humane or not, it is unhealthy to seek negative attention.
I have dealt with my own psychological issues of needing attention. I understand it, and I understand the path it can lead and I understand the reasons it is there.
Granted, my need for attention is not fed through fantasy, but destructive nonetheless.
It's best to control the need and minimize it, instead of seeking it by any means necessary. And if you cannot control it or minimize it, seek positive attention that will fill you with a much better feeling than the negative.
Again, this is where I bring in the parents.
Lack of parental attention can bring different effects depending on the child's mind. But for the most part, lack of attention or not enough positive attention will bring out a need to seek attention of any kind elsewhere.
There are exceptions to this...but they are far and few between.
Most kids will laugh at that. I giggled hysterically when we had sex ed in middle school. Laughing is what I do when I am nervous, bored, happy...just about any reason. I laugh at inappropriate moments. =P
I can't monitor EVERYTHING my son does, and some things he should learn on his own. But I do have to hope I give him the tools and confidence to come to me with any questions or problems he may have.
You think the library thing is odd? My son pokes me in the boobs and runs away giggling. He gets it from his dad I think lol.
Yeah I agree alot of 11 year-olds read the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings series, discover about Paganism and then come on to Pagan sites, expecting us to believe in fairy tales (when the only 'fairy tales' we believe in are the ones spelt with an 'e' not an 'i') and most of which have a very diminutive if not NO knowledge of magick.
But what they fail to see is that a human's subconsciouss mind holds a vast amount of non-magickal powers that, if unlocked, would make them more powerful than any grand magickal creature they claim to be.
I've been sent mails from a few people on this site saying "Magickprince, you're no powerful magician or a fae-infused being, you're just a big childish faker!" I don't mean to boast or anything but what separates me from a fantasy-induced faker is the fact that I know a HELL of alot more about magick. That's how a person can actually tell a true person from a faker.
