I am finding this all very interesting and learning so much.
I would love to hear more on the subject Kao as you seem to know a lot. Also I felt that Luzifer too knows a bit so if either of you would post or pm me I would really love it.
I too have often felt the 'presence' of something/one and would love to know how to be able to either see them or know who they are.
Also I have another question - can they attack you physically?? I know they can attack you on a spiritual level.

Lady Tessa is right, quite a few people have had a life as otherkin, the same as an elfkin would be otherkin to us a human going through a elf life would be otherkin to them, the soul travels many places within the multiverse and it's multiple levels to find the answers it needs to bring it peace and finality when their end come.
All astral beings born into human flesh aren't true otherkin, some are truly just confused kids looking for attention, but you will find certain prime races of beings which make up the various races of beings from other realms born into flesh, because all races are different forms and levels of conciousness, and all forms of conciousness wants to experience, thus various conciousness forms at times take turns using the human flesh as the vessel to allow for perceptions to be enjoyed.
Different kin will have different "natural" abilities, but most people also have their own uniqueness, pheonixkin would as an example be excellent at healing to the point of working miracles, elfkin have hightened senses and a strong connection to the stars and other side of the veil, dragonkin are powerfull and once they tap their dragon side it is usually truly epic.
As another note, not all are otherkin, but all do have various astral beings which form you equal within their universe, thus each person would have a dragon self, pheonix self, elf self etc. it's all a case of pushing out to them, finding them and working untill you are one being, thus the soul can keep growing infinitely, people only often limit themselves.

the way you know is by doing some past life regression, but focussing on the time not spent on earth, thus the time in the etheric planes or within realms and universes. Otherkin always feel different, but we all do, certain connections though will be apparent, no one can tell you if you are a otherkin unless you already yourself feel it to some degree, cause otherwise that part like the higher self slumbers.
another thing to throw out there quickely, there are levels of being, physical, lower astral, astral, higher astral and etheric (excluding funky transitions in between.) the stronger you are the higher you can travel between these realms. the beings that exist on the higher planes are able to faal and take life in the physical (but a full life similar to reincarnation) when they die they go back to their homes. so physical living forms of angels, demons, gods and otherkin (mentioned by Kao) are very possible and very real.
