Though , magickal practice showed that Archangels can be summoned mainly through kabbalah orientated ceremonies and procedures.
If You ask me , it's rather stupid , and show's lack of virtues to try summoning an Archangel or any Angels from Celestial hierarchy for that matter, If You dont have an acctual need for
it's pressence.
You can always CALL FOR IT'S HELP , ASSISTANCE , PROTECTION , GUIDING ect., and Christian prayers are the fastest , safest and best way in most cases, or Christian rituals.

your right, I do know what your talking about shadow. your implying that the religous system of both judaism and christianity has some sort of claim on angelic beings.
angels were around far before that though, depictions of angels appear both in sumeria and in greece. the belief in guardian angels was held in greece; and the belief that angels were messangers to the gods was a Sumerian belief; Zoroastrianism also contains belief in angels.
as these cultures and religions predate the christian and jewish ones, I would say that how one chooses to call, summon, or work with angels is ALL conjecture mixed with experience, and that no way is better than another.
ps. there was no sarcasm in my post shadow, only the reality that the whole universe does NOT center around the belief in the christian or jewish god. and the fact that a belief in angels predates both judaism and written history.
Lady Tessa's right. That is the infamous Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. I do it everyday. It is used before evoking ANY entity, benevolent or malevolent. It also helps strengthen your aura and banishes anything harmful. Somebody didn't invent it on this site either, it's been around for hundreds of years. The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram can also be used to totally banish anything unwanted and for supreme protection.

You are right , though , the way You contact any sort of entity is quite resoult of personal fealings , knowledge , group influence ect. Even Wicca uses angels , and has nothing to do with Christianity.

I sat on the Concil of Angelic Touch for some time and while that ritual may indeed work..It IS NOT how you summon an ArchAngel.
