Honestly....I dislike most in store tarot readers and all those people who divination of any kind as well.

I have many times asked for my money back from people who were completely and utterly fake. So in a sense, I can see where they're comming from.

But I am with Nodrk, I'd rather my son tell me. I always tell him " I can't help you, if you don't tell me the truth ".

I was lucky enough to have my mother understand. Well, she only said it was ok because she 1. knew I wouldn't stop and 2. figured if I could do spells I could help her win the lottery lol

I'm not sure whether it's just the commercial 'clairvoyants' that my dad hates, because after all he did by the witchcraft book that got me started in this. (even if he bought it from a charity shop for £2 and never did any spells, apparently, oh and I wasn't supposed to have it)My mum is slightly more open-minded, but I'm still a bit scared she's hit the roof (especially if she knew about ym secret candle stash lol)

i got interested in magick because i am a born empath and i honestly got into magick to find a way to sheild myself from others emotions and the whole parent thing with me im all set because my mom does believe in magik and shes on this site 8)

Well see what we can do to get a better handle on it Chrome. Of all the psychic abilities...I think empathy sucks the most lol.

I don't like keeping secrets from my parents...actually it's pretty hard. I have, however, told my sister, and she's pretty open towards it, but I made her promise not to tell my parents. I don't know what to do about this!

Oppurtunities tend to present themselves Vex.

Little things like " hey mom/dad, can we go buy such and such crystal? I read it was good to carry it around to help keep calm and clear ". Conversations like this are a good way to test the waters so to speak. If they argee, and you can get them into a metaphysical store to purchase one...or even if they let you go on your own...it's just one step closer.

I would take offense to Healers comment about Empathy sucks,if she wasnt so Right..Llo
and yes she is also right about being aware of the opurtunities that may present themselves for you to bring the subject up.You never can tell when they may present themselves.
Also there are a few joining now that either know they are or think they may be Empathic.
Ive dealt with this Gift(ability)for many years,and If I do say so myself,when I can keep my own emotions out of the way I have gotten very good at singling out the emotions of others and reading them.
I want to see how many would like to start a thread about ways to deal with ,control ,and shield against the flood of emotions that all empaths must at some point deal with.
If we try to deal with them all we become very unstable emotionally..I know this first had,lol
It may seem simple,but all empaths run the risk of shutting off their own feelings and emotions as well,if they arnt carefull.
We have to find a balance to block the flood,without becoming totally unfeeling.
Of course the thread will be open for all members to read and contribute to if they saw fit,It would just simply be a central place for Empaths ,new and old to find information about their gift.
