This question was asked a few years ago, but. Witch is anybody that practices witchcraft. A wizard.... I've never seen any self respecting practicioner address themselves or anybody else as a wizard. Finally, a warlock is an oathbreaker, has nothing to do with gender or magick practice.

yea your preaty much right about witches and wizards, but warlocks are those who turned away from the craft. So if I were to stop doing witchcraft today i would most likely b labeled a warlock

No. The term warlock in origin means "traitor, oathbreaker". In early modern Scots, the word came to be used as the male equivalent of witch (which can be male or female, but is used predominantly for females). [1] From this use, the word passed into Romantic literature and ultimately 20th-century popular culture.

The commonly accepted etymology derives warlock from the Old English wrloga meaning "oathbreaker" or "deceiver." [2] A derivation from the Old Norse varð-lokkur, "caller of spirits," has also been suggested; [3] [4] however, the Oxford English Dictionary considers this etymology inadmissible.
