i always look into the subjects surrounding the arcane and magickal, especially when someone asks for help... and after all the research ive done i have found there is nothing that is impossible... what we are saying to them is not that its impossible to do so... we are saying it is impossible for YOU to do so... for example a few months ago there was a huge craze on vampires from november and on...and i people always asked i want to become a vampire and there is only one way to become a vampire but it is impossible FOR YOU... for if they came to the site asking how do i become one? or how can i? they obviously ,in fact, have none of the qualifications to even cast the spell let alone live through it...
for example back to the vampire question, i know a way but you cant do it. they ask why. Its simple...to become a vampire you must go through a siring ritual in which only a purblooded vampire can do and the complications with that is 1.The majority of purbloods have gone into hiding for the past few hundred years 2.The vampire council a few centuries back banned this method of turning mortals into vampires...all other methods of becoming a vampire from human origin is unknown...
And there are hundreds of examples i can give where what you say "magick makes it possible but we say its impossible" clearly applies but what i am stating is that we really mean to say its impossible for YOU
and i may be a hypocrite or i may be wrong but in my opinion magick makes all possible, but there is training that needs to be done before we can change "its impossible" to "its possible for you"
Magick does not make all things possible, however through knowledge all things are possible. Is it possible to change your own species, say, from a human to a mermaid? Through magick, no, I think not.
However, once we advance enough in genetic engineering(a form of science which involves messing with or studying the genes in a body, for those of you who don't know) we may see mermaids running through the streets(I mean swimming through the waters) and whatnot.
It would likely be expensive for the first few decades and maybe even a century, but I believe it would be possible. Tricky, dangerous, expensive, entirely unnecessary and likely regrettable, but still possible.
the question is if people cannot live with who they are now and want to transform into something different what makes them sure they will be content then making their quest impossible hence dooming it to failure to start with as for science genetics my hold the key to mutation but then newborns would not have a choice and their dream may be a yearning to become human seeking magick to make them human

Thank you everyone for demonstrating Linda's point. There really is at least a two to one ratio of inexperienced members who claim vast knowledge to the experienced member willing to speak up. (I like to refer to them as well weathered witches ;)
When I was a young witchling, way before the birth of the internet, I sought out experienced older practitioners to help guide me. There were a few bumps in the road as I learned to figure out who to believe and who not to. I always looked for those who had theories that made sense and that others agreed with.
With the internet I advise all young and/or new members who wish to learn the ways of the craft to not believe everything you read. Cross reference information, look at the source of your information, and realize that there are limits to everything. Even an object reaches maximum velocity.
Read and understand not only topics of the craft but also philosophy, ethics, biology, physics, theology, mythology, history, communication, herbology, chemistry, and many other topics. A good caster is a well rounded, intelligent, educated and patient person.
I understand that most who take the time to read this will turn away from it. I have seen it many times before (I just wish people would start surprising me). It is sad the state in which we are in when young people have no work ethic at all and anything that requires it is frowned on. I know this is a cycle that the world goes through with each generation however I just wonder when the pendulum will swing back.
An excellent post KTS and very true. The interent is a wonderful places for learning but there is also a lot of information out there which could only be discribed as disinformation.
Uh... Hi there. I came to this site about a year ago and tried a few spells then, and I recently returned on a different account, and have tried some spells since returning, but not one of them has ever worked... I've tried meditating and the casting a spell, but nothing whatsoever happens... Am I trying spells that are to difficult, have I not practiced enough? Am I not concentrating enough? I have no idea... Can someone help me find a low level spell please... I'm starting to lose hope... :(
Have you tried writing your own spells? I find this to be the best, since you are putting your own energy into the writing, can focus more on the outcome, and just have your own visualization without having to worry whether it will work or not. I have written some spells, and tried some from this site. And by far, the ones that I have written have worked.
Just try something simple to begin with. Maybe you can try a protection spell, or maybe one for something small.
Also, your timing is important as well. Different phases of the moon seem to work best with different spells. For bringing something to you, the waxing moon (between dark and full) is best. The Full Moon is best for powering any spell and for divination. The waning moon (between full and dark) is best for removing negative energies, breaking bad habits.
Knowing the basics (meditation, visualization, grounding, centering) is just about an absolute must before trying to produce results with a spell.
And patience is needed, since spells don't always work right away.
Please don't give up, just have faith that you will succeed, and you will.
