How to cleanse crystals

From what I've heard, exposure to sunlight can bleach stones such as Citrine and Amethyst of their colour.

Just when you thought you had all the crystal cleansing methods. Someone comes up with two more.

Remember that crystals contain living spirit. Try to remember to treat it as such.

A Shaman friend advised me this:

1. Take the crystal and leave it out in the rain storm, it will wash and cleanse old vibrations and purify for you to attune. This is what I do to new crystal purchases.

2. Calcite mineral discharges any former vibrations, be it negative or what have you and provides it a clean slate for you.
