Well a writer can understand another writer... Too bad I don't have any of my work published... Maybe it is because I get greedy and don't send them to anyone big... Lol

For whatever the reason, movies and books were not made to be. The books are to big for the length of the movie (unless you go as far as The Stand or Lord of the Rings) or too small so they make up stuff (Where the Wild things are). Movies are good when they are not from a book, and books are good when you read them and image what is going on.
At other times they try to change the movie so the person that read it don't get bored. They like to see new things. But what do I know :D

Also speaking as an (not yet published) author, with the rare exception, films ruin books. Sometimes they can pull it off, yes, but mosttimes they screw it up.
There is also the issue of would-be critics, they do actually complain if you follow the conventions of a myth and say it isn't original, you copied so-and-so, and you should never have been published (or allowed to post you work on a writing site, whichever you did). Then when you don't follow the conventions, they say you murdered the myth. It's impossible to win, but I'm sure that will start to explain Meyer's sparkly vampires.

Oh, and only six minutes? You missed the big fight at the end.

I enjoyed Reading the stephenie Meyer books,Her ideas were imaginitive and interesting to read and a good romance. But just because teenage girls like the thought of having some hot vampire boyfriend, doesn't mean we should change our beliefs. We know the reality of vampires and shouldn't care if silly girls want to copy it because of some film or book :)

I write myself fiction and non fiction. I can say i sat down and read those books and i can also say i just did not like them, in my mind they were badly written and the story left me bored, but then again i'm not into romance and all that guff so i suppose i wouldnt get on with the books. But some people will like it some will not and also the films were shocking i felt like giving the actors a slap and shouting smile for goodness sake at them!

I will say I found them interesting books even though my opinions on men sparkling still stands whether someone finds them insulting or not. I never found that attractive, at all.
Though easily looked over. At first, I really enjoyed Edward's character. Eventually he was assimilated and lost half his brain which was a major "turn-off" (for lack of a better word).

Stephanie Meyer is a good writer in my opinion. With different twists to the typical vampire does draw in attention. The plot could have used some work after all... the entire book was about a girl who couldn't keep herself out of trouble no matter how many times she was warned while her relatively naive, vampire boyfriend came to the rescue every time (the more harsh version of the plot).

Twilight was excellently written depending on the standard concepts of written fiction. It brought on a great deal of varying emotions (I almost threw Breaking Dawn across the room); it had decent vocabulary and syntax; it had an easy point, and though predictable- "what did Bella do now?", it made me want to keep reading and find out what the answer to that question, it was also simple and clear reading.

Unfortunately it was written a little too much to the standards and fantasies of a pre-teen girl as the very personalities of the leading characters eventually made me quite aggravated.

I'm w/ you on that! Vampires that sparkle! Give me a brake! What a bunch of poopy! (-:

Yeah Vampires are supposed to burst into flames not sparle as if their skin was made out of powdered diamonds! It looks kindda cool I must admit, but stupid!

Hey and what ever happened to the good old Vampire movies that portray them strong, beautiful, handsome, superior, powerful, misterious...?
All the new movies suck!

I actually did use to love these books, but seriously as time passed by and I
re-read. I agree that the whole Idea of vampires sparkling really is stupid.

I agree with Lady_Snow. She's actually good writer, but I think she could do a whole lot better without writing vampire fiction.

I am quite a Twilight fan, not huge but there you have it. Vampires sparkling, well here's the thing, there is no law which states Stephanie Meyer had to write a book which classes your typical vampire. Whether anyone likes it or not she wrote a book with a vegan sparkly vampire and thats what her readers wanted to read. It's new, it's different, and as you can see it attracted alot of attention. Would she have done as well with your traditional vampire? I honestly doubt it, from a writing point of view it has been done before.
