amethyst for third eye?

is there anything i can do to keep the chakra open and activated? i can usually only get it open for a couple minutes and then it closes and stops throbbing.

i think that you can hold it open beacuse your spiritual energy will exhaust. but there times which your third eye is open by itself like when you are relaxed (front of a tv or reading a book) this time your spiritual power is more beacuse you don't have to try to open it so all the energy end there..(i must ask something you want to open your thrid eye for astral projector , prothecy or to see more things?
