Let's take this a step further pure.

Let's say the universe does care what you do. How do you know, that the people who are determined to do what they want, are not part of the grand plan? How do you know that they are not here to make "light workers and sages" work harder and thus learn more about themselves? Or that they are here to prove the beauty of cruelness of balance? Or even that the world isn't ready for what is so often preached about..moving closer to this that or the other thing?

One can debate the so called " Grand Plans existence " until infinity. I am not sure there is just one plan, maybe a specific plan for each person. However I think that the original point trying to be made is that there are people on this site who have no respect for Magic, and its consequences. They want to use spells and magic without taking some responsiblity for their own actions and lives. Now, one can debate that they can do so and not have any repercussions, but my expierence shows just the opposite. Whether it's the Universe, Karma, God, Goddess, or Uncle Harry, someone or something calls in the bill. Rilke

One can also debate one's experiences. One can also debate that there is some cosmic force of judgement that actually cares what you can do. One can debate that there are various forces that are simply cosmic mechanics. This is what I'm saying. Your ethics are not the same as everybody else's. Cramming them down somebody else's throat is the same as being a bible thumper. I don't want your dogma crammed down my throat. No, I don't care what your experiences are. Everybody can justify any point of view through personal experience. So get off your soap box unless you intend to be evangelistic. In which case.... I'm not responding or listening anymore, and feel free to enjoy preaching until you're blue in the face.

Lol, Always wanted to be accussed of being a Bible Thumper. I think we all must start with our experiences. I think they are more valid then any books or websites. Particularly if they appear consistent with what others have experienced. Personally I don't care if you read what I say, or choose to respond. I have been in the Occult world studying, practicing, and working as a Priest for many years. During that time one picks up knowledge, sometimes, and usually learned the hard way. If I can help people by sharing my Experiences then I will, I consider it irresponsible not to do so, and I find most folks appreciate it. Believe me I am under no illusions that it's my way or the highway. I am STILL learning new things everyday, every damn day. I will continue to give my opinions, I will continue to call a spade a spade, you have the choice to listen, agree, disagree, debate, or ignore. I learned a long time ago to respect Magic, and I try to respect those who attempt to practice Magic. If at times,I show my impatience with the "silly" on this site then that is a weakness, I will have to work on that if I am going to ever become an Evangelist (lol) Rilke

No one "crams" something down someone else's throat. People can choose to accept or not to accept a concept or a belief. This is what these forums are for. If anyone chooses not to believe what someone else says, well, it's a free country. There will be opinions galore on magick as well as many subjects, what works for you will not necessarily work for someone else.

What is boils down to is this - indigo was posting on this forum to express her concern for all of the people who are asking for spells that simply cannot be done.

Thank you for making this thread pureindigo! Your right in saying this is long over due.

I see kids coming in here after seeing a Harry Potter movie or Craft or any of the many other movies out there. They come in here thinking that they will learn magick in a week or even a day. It is not that easy and when you tell them that they have to actually learn about magick they say " Not me!" They do not want to do any kind of work or learn they just want want want it NOW!! UGH!
I get tired of these..I want to be a mermaid where is a spell? or I want to be a vampire where is a spell? Plus many more. There are things you just flat out can NOT do. You can not change your DNA no matter how bad you want to. You are born a human and will remain such until you die. That is fact so live with it. Yes I am talking about the physical plan for those who want to say something.
Yes you must be very careful in what you do. If you want to harm someone except to get it back maybe even three times worse then you sent out. Yes the universe knows what we do they are after all everything. I do mean they are us what we are made of what everything single this is made of. We do have to be careful of what we take from the universe. If we take to much what will be left? Exactly Nothing! So if you want to destroy someone or something think about it long and hard first. Make sure what your doing is not going to come back on you or take to much from our earth.
So for all you out there that want to summon demons be prepared. You just may get more then you bargained for. If you think you can summon a demon and have it be your best friend you are so very wrong! They will tell you whatever you want to hear to get what they want. So many do not realize this until it is to late. Magick is NOT a game people it is very very real.
People need to treat magick and the universe with much respect. Show respect and you will get respect in return it is that simple. Do harm and you will get that back as well. Get greedy and there will be nothing left.
Yes there are rules of the universe they are unwritten, but they are there. Whether you want to believe it or not they are there. Ethics should be a given I would think anyway. Ethics is simply a way to act. If you have no ethics then you just do not care in my book.

I'm faced with a dilemma.

On the one hand we have kiddies who come in asking for outrageous things.
On the other hand we have very closed minded "seasoned" practitioners who act like their way is the only way. (not directly aimed at anyone in this thread as I have seen it from many occultist both online and off)

Universal law is, in my opinion based on experience, what is and is not possible within the limits of science.

I have seen nothing in my years practicing to suggest to me that what I send out I will get back, that communicating with demons will harm me or get me in trouble, or anything of the sort.
While I can't say for certain there is no universal law to magick of what we should and should not do, I can say that I have seen nothing to suggest it's existance.

Ethics, like everything else, change from person to person. It's your personal belief of what is right and what it wrong. Everyone has ethics, not everyone has the same ethics.

As I've said before, yes..I too am annoyed by the kids coming on here claiming this or trying to do that. The point of this thread seems to have taken another turn however.

Just because half the world thinks one thing, doesn't mean the other half is wrong and vice versa.

Samandiriel, I have learned to like you. You have a very interesting opinion.But.... I think that it is less about seasoned old elders, then maybe, just maybe its because they have been around a bit, they have seem things, they have experience, hey, sometimes that counts. As to your never seeing any evidence of Karma, or whatever you want to label it,I think you will, I don't know your age,( hell I did not know how to spell Karma when I was 20 ) but I think you will, and your smart enough to recognize it when it comes. I love it that you doubt, we all need that. Rilke

I would like to think that the universe is open to us doing as we will. That we are considered responsible enough to understand what we ask for, and that it is given in perfect faith. That the universe knows us inside and out, and gives us our requests with the idea that we should know what to ask For.

In that vein, it isn't that it doesn't care and it also isn't that its manipulating destiny. It simply expects us to be careful what we wish for.

I also believe that Karma is the result of living your life in guilt, and that if you can be proud of how you live and not carry a negative burden, then there is nothing negative to be attracted in kind.
I like to think my beliefs elegantly encompass all of the general and specific schools of thought, simply because if one looks hard enough there are few ideologies that are totally mutually exclusive.
