Umm, trees are just plants that live a long time.We currently have more trees on earth now than we did before the 20th cetury. Why? Because people farm them for paper, building materials etc. Save me the tree hugging mumbo jumbo, trees are no different than potatoes or carrots, it's a plant, and no they don't have thoughts and feelings. There is no prove of such, just as potatoes don't have thoughts or feelings. Respect for what, your belief they are sentient? Respect my believe that they are not, and don't bash me simply because my opinion differs from yours ;)
Wow, i don't believe they are sentient. But they are living and turn the carbon dioxide we breathe out into breathable air.
And we don't have more trees, we have less because of industrial slaves and corporate ninnyhammers such as you who say that trees have no place on this earth and that we should kill all of them. If we mess up the environment that was created when everything was that has self-sufficiency then we risk dooming every creature on the planet including ourselves to sure death.
Respect that there are other things that are alive that we should are about than ourselves.
You are wrong about that, we have more trees not less. You have been sold a bill of goods by tree huggers ans people who themselves make money of of this special interest. Do some research, or don't since if you did it would destroy many of your clearly valuable beliefs. In this case you are wrong also ;)
There are less trees because of the rapid deforestation and while you may not care, any scientist or magician who ever understood about trees role in the entire world.
Also, the only special interests of any consequence to this subject comes from people like you who cut down trees to make money.
Wrong yet again. I would suggest you do some research, though people who have taken on causes to the point of making them a personal religion will never have their minds changed, no matter what proof they are presented with. It is fact that there are more, not less trees. The reason you don't know this is because you wish to believe the opposite. Trees make people money, so they plant more of them, create new breeds that grow even faster, and because of this there are more, not less. Now it is true that there are less rain forests trees, which is a problem, but over all there are as many or more trees than we had since before the 19th century. You don't know this because you don't want to, you have a cause, and you don't want to because you have a cause, and the truth would interfere with that. You have certainly not gone looking for evidence to proof yourself wrong and that is contrary.
Following me around from post to post is going to get old for you real quick, as you continue to be proven wrong, but by all means do be led around by your emotions. Bye bye.
Actually, your tree example can be compared with oil. Oil makes people money. There is oil naturally found. Do people try to manufacture oil? No, they take it from the ground and hope that they are dead when it runs out. Same with trees. No one, save the smartest and the people who recognize that smart people are, well, smart, actually cares about planting trees.
Q:If so many people are planting trees and there are MORE trees, why do companies bargain for land to cut down trees when you say they can just plant some?
Yes, trees are living things. However, it is natural for energy to get shifted around between predator and prey, so if you eat trees, I guess that would be natural. I personally think that older trees are better because you needn't kill them to take your share of wood.
Actually it's not the same at all. Trees can be made, grown, oil can not. Oil takes millions of years, and it can pollute the environment, trees do not. Trees can be grown, and in as little as 10 years a tree that can produces literally tons of paper can be grown. Fully renewable tree farms that grow millions upon millions of trees can continue to operate into infinity, as they are constantly growing and harvesting new trees, constantly renewing their supply. They can continue doing so forever, just as potatoes can be continually grown.
I do admit that older trees should be left alone, and most are in America. It's mainly in 3rd world countries where few resources are available that old growth forests are cut down. This is sad, as they don't replant and re grow if they do cut them down. That's not the case in America.
Anyhow, you are mistaken, but I would dare you to prove yourself wrong, I sure am not going to. Nor would anyone else, from the most learned person on the subject, down to lowly me. You certainly are limited and narrow of vision in regards to your education.
