Yes, zebrah! What we refer to as a spell, is trying to change something in ourselves, or our environment, by "harnessing" our own energy with that of the enormous energy of the Earth. I do not believe in the Judeo/Christian "God". I believe there is a higher "power". That there is much in the Cosmos that we do not as yet fully understand. I believe that there is "harmony" amongst the chaos; ying and yang; male aspect and female;positive and negative. That the sun is the source of all life. That the moon has influence on water (Tides). That (perhaps) all the planets have influence on each other. So yes, I do believe in spiritual magic. But I also believe in the natural course of events.
i would have to agree with brysing but also put that we all have our own perspectives and such which is exactly why posts like this are made arguments may sometimes ensue on the site itself.
My sentiments exactly. I try to teach that exact message to my daughter everyday. It causes a sense of wonder and appreciation for nature and the world around us. I wish more people thought the same way.
Modern society strips people of their natural ways and places humans at the pinnacle of creation, which is why so many believe that this world was given to them and they continue to destroy that which supports them. When we are really a part of the whole. Not a core of the part. The world could survive without humans but it cannot survive without for instance insects.
Without nature we would not exist. Without water not one living being would survive. Not one plant, tree, or creature. Without air we could not breathe. Without the sun we would freeze to death and nothing would grow. Without insects to pollenate we would not have fruitation. Every single creature has its place in this world. Down to the bee and the earth worm. Is that not amazing?
For every illness and injury there is an herb in this world that can heal it. How did this come about?
How did the negative neutron hit the positive one and create this galaxy? No one can say how exactly the world was created. Its all speculation. Plenty of other galaxies are being created everyday in our ever expanding universe. How? If not by magick, how else would chaos turn to such intricate detailed complete circles of life? Seriously now.
Humans attempt to recreate nature in science, it is science's inspiration! The human is the creating species of this world and yet they still cannot create something without first being inspired by an aspect of nature.
How does a bumblebee fly? Science still can't explain it! Not everything must make sense, or be "figured out". It is what it is. As brysing said, its magick.
Regardless of your beliefs, faiths, religions. If you believe in something, then you mustn't overlook the magick of the world itself.
And if you think that what brysing or myself has said is silly, then perhaps magick is not for you. Because it is a way of life, a philosophy of thought, not some tool to get your way in life.
There is no limit to magick, not one. The only limiter is your own mind. There is no right or wrong in magick. There is positive and negative yes, but do you think that sorcerors 5000 years ago had colored candles and every crystal in the world? No! They picked up a rock, lit a fire and had at it! And you know what? It still worked! I love spontaneous magick, doing what feels right at the moment is some of the best stuff. And its not all about receiving. It's a give and take.
I know I asked for a spell to protect me from dangerous weather (ie: tornadoes) which is contradictive to my above statement. but that is for a very good reason! I go stupid when I fear something. Nothing feels right other than hiding. =)
Well i think that magic and science are mostly common but they only differ in the understanding i.e. in science we consider "ardhas" and in magic we consider "paramardhas" i don't know these terms in English so i have written them from Sanskrit.
thats my view people.
He isn't saying that things he doesn't understand are magick. He is trying to demonstrate that nothing should be taken for granted. That magick can be in anything if you have the right mindset. It isn't just when someone feels like practicing magick that magick occurs or is present.
Maybe I get it because it is an extremely artistic view of the world. And my parents and myself are artists. So I grew up with it.
I know it sounded as though Brysing was overly placing the word. But he just wrote it in a confusing way. It seemed like he was writiing in a stream of thought.
And moonyy your absolutely right. I love science! Because it validates what I already know through magick. Well most of it...science still doesn't know everything and in my opinion, it can stay that way. We're better off.
