this is very good, although. In my experince in practicing and teaching with the elements, you zodiac sign does not garrentee you element. it is like a one out of four chance. you need to experement like scupulous said, meditate with each one untill you feel the energy push against you. which ever is strongest is probobly you element, but you should try practicing with it to be sure

All of nature is made up of all of the elements, including us. Our personalities usually relate closely to one or two elements in particular, and so do our likes and dislikes. This doesn't mean we only have one or two elements to work with, we should work with them all. By understanding what element(s) our personalities relate to, we better understand ourselves. By working with these elements, we can become closer with the others and gain a deeper understanding of them all by reflecting inward and observing nature.
I am one of those who disagree with astrological ways of deciphering the element(s) that reflects in our personalities.

Oriphicus was intentionally omitted from the study of astrology in the past. The idea of it being "new" is an error from a modern scientist who didn't do enough research.
In terms of elements, the idea that any element is a "possessive element" is rather modern. As was said above, in traditional occult practice we are composed of all of the elements, as has been explained countless times before on these forums.
Fire is the element of purity and life. It is the warmth within your flesh. It provides light. Its absence is darkness. Earth is what gives you substance and stability. It is balance. It is your foundation. Water is the glue that holds it all together. It is the substance of your life blood. It is sustenance for all life. Air is whim. It is creativity, thought. It is the vapors that fill your lungs. The oxygen in your veins.
To claim that you "possess" one is wholly misunderstanding. Generally, if you possess an affinity to one, that is because your personality traits allow you to better understand and familiarize yourself with the qualities of that particular element. This is often where occultists, pagans, and other practitioners begin. But the idea is not to stop there. This one particular element is not special. It does not lend to you any special ability. What it gives you is a place to begin to understand how the elements work within all magical practice.
Now, the astrological bodies also possess some influence within the elements. Some interpret this to mean that this defines what element you "are" but again, this is just misunderstanding. The astrological influences shift across the sky, and when they are dominant or in certain positions, it is believed that their influences impact magical practice and the events of the world in general. Each astrological sign was attributed an elemental aspect over which it was observed to have an influence. It has nothing to do with your birth sign describing "your element."
I actually found a site a few months back which gives you your basic zodiac sign and element, as well as the chinese zodiac sign and element. It also gives a few other parts of your complete zodiac profile.
Now, as stated before finding your "true" element is not set in stone, and you cannot go by your zodiac sign alone, but this sign will give your element based on the zodiac sign.
http://www.myspiritualprofile.com/ Don't worry, you can enter information and get the basic profile for free, but they apparently allow you to purchase a more in depth profile. (something I've not done, and don't find necessary)
You know this is quite ridiculous. Just because Fire is associated with your astrological sign doesn't make it your element! I'm a fire sign, Sagittarius, and yet I have always identified more with water. I feel at home in or near the water.
