I'm a Christian Wiccian. Its like life was when i wasn't wician but i can't tell my parents they'd call me nutts and get me evluated like they did my sister. Its hard kepping it to yourself but im doing good at it.
It is an interesting line to walk. Labels so often confuse things. It comes down to what you believe and who you worship. I don't see a conflict if what you are doing as a Wiccan does not contradict what you believe as a Christian. If it does you need to examine some things.
Here is a definition of religion from dictionary.com: "A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion. " This means that if you are not following the agreed beliefs and practices of a religion then you are not actually a member of that religion. If you want to mix two religions, then you are not subscribing to set belief structures, therefore you are not a member of either of said religions.
It is not necessary to join any religion in order to practice magick. Magic is not a religion. What you can do, is be a Christian Witch. A witch, in my view, is simply someone who practices magick.
Personally, I don't understand why people put so much energy into labeling themselves. How about postponing choosing your label, then, when you hit about 50 years old, look back at what you did. Then label it. Then move on. The term Eclectic Spiritualist has a nice ring to it for people who just can't wait :)
Once agaim Zeb, bravo. Just to add, wasn't the bible a compilation of books written by various people throughout history at relatively the same time in history, and were reviewed by a certain pope a while ago to see what was "in" and what was "out" based on the views of the papacy at the time?
It is actually said god told the prophets(For example:Moses)to write the books.Over time as the Roman increase they re-wrote the bible tons of times.
Its not the matter of religion.Its what you believe in.You can even say Jesus a mix of Jew and Christain.Jesus was a jew,but is told in the Christian religion.Even today Jews believe the messiah as not come.If your born a Christain but want to a wiccan be a Christain Wiccan.Be a christain and stay close to your family.You can believe in Jesus and be a wiccan.Its what you believe.Your bless for having free will.Free will is a gift!Live your life and be your own religion.
I am christian and I do believe in magick, and that magick is not from the devil, nor it is evil. I have studied magick and the bible the bible prohibits it because you can disuave the word of GOD, but that only happens to hipocrates and does who dont believe in GOD. So if a christian does want to practice magick is there choice and only God can judge he/her to what they have done with it in there lifes.
