In addition to White's suggestion I have a few recommendations also. If the Staph infection is minor, I recommend first washing any skin eruptions with an astringent herb liniment such as lavender, st. john's wort, plantain, calendula, willow bark, or nettle. Secondly I recommend eating a half clove of fresh garlic twice daily either whole if you can bear it, or crushed in perhaps a salad or light dish, but be sure to keep the garlic fresh and uncooked, or it will loose most of its medicinal properties. Garlic is one of natures strongest anti-viral's and is one of the nest tonic herbs for the circulation system and heart, this will not only help rid the body of the virus, but help keep it from further spreading in your system, and will also help prevent sepsis. I also recommend applying tea tree oil to the affected areas after being washed and dried, this will help slow the infection as well. Another alternative with more common herbs is to make a poultice with rosemary, oregano, basil, apple cider vinegar, and baking soda and apply that to the infected area/s several times a day. I hope this helps.
Thanx guys. i ended up freaking out and going to the e.r anyway. crying the whole time... haha im such a baby, but the doctor actually said we caught it early... :p

I have had issues with boils, there is an old rememdy for this that most pharmacies have, but you have to ask for it as it is not something often stocked on the shelves, but even walmart has it if you inquire. It is called ichthammol ointment. It is made by several brands. It is a drawing salve that will bring the boil to a head so that it may drain. You must be sure to get the root out or it will come back eventually. You can also try such home remedies as egg white put on the area to dry or crushed fenugreek seeds in a politce. I have had excellent results consistently with the icthammol and keep it stocked in my medicine cabinet for any future problems.
If its bad and you need to go. Go to ones that are called St. Vincent. I don't know if all the ones that say Saint do it or not, but if you need help paying your bill they have forms to fill out and if you qualify, they will reduce or pay your bill in full.
They ask for all income and bills going out. Its something to check into.

emergency rooms have to take you, regardless of if you have the money to pay or not. If you have little income you may qualify for reduced or free care there. If you dont have a ride, you may call the ambulance and they will transport you. One of the benefits of living in a first world country is the heathcare. It is expensive in the united states, but they have a system in place for those with low income. I myself qualified as a "charity case" when I had heart issues a couple of years ago. They have the forms at the hospital and will be happy to help you fill them in. Use home remedies if that is what you prefer, but the hospital is available if you feel your situation is severe enough that you need to go that route.
