To me age matters not because anyone could make up a number for how old they are. I rather get to know you by the way you type out your feelings into words than see you as a everyday teenager.

Sadly this site may listen to you but the word fluff will still be around to haunt those that are far from the tree. To me, it is just a new insult we have made for ourselves, than a title to put on the role players.

But enough of that, yes you do not need to be rushed on that word due to age, but than why tell them your age? Kind of like asking, why give them a chance to do such a thing to you. I am not trying to be rude, just trying to reduce the insults.

Age doesn't really matter. If you know what you are talking about and are helpful than you should be respected. I have befriended members of this site and found out that they were significantly younger than me. I continued to respect them. Look past age :) I hope people will learn to respect people for what they know, not how old they are.

In my opinion, age is not the reason that individuals on this site are labeled "fluffy." Presentation and first impressions are everything be it in the real world or on this site, thus, when you act and behave in a certain way, you are treated in a way that reflects your actions regardless of age.

Age doesn't matter how you act and present yourself does. Act with maturity and respect and you will be treated as such, act childish and immature and you will be treated as such.

I'm old. I'm experienced. I'm Powerful. I'm also very ignorant.

What is a fluffy?

Not meaning to be a butt head or anything but I don't think it is the fact that you are young that no one takes you seriously. It is just the fact that it takes years for people to learn and master healing arts like RIKI and energy manipulation. If you are a healer then that is cool and as an adult I accept that BUT! I would never trust a brain surgen that never went to med school. Would you? All that training goes into what they do and it is no less true for magical healers. I am just saying.

I know a 16 year old kid that has more knowledge of aspects of divination than I do. I'll admit that. He hasn't been working at it as long as I have. So TIME doesn't matter. Wit, determination, and study make you good at something. Some people are better at things than others. It is called being gifted. Given most fluffies tend to claim they have some special gift but there really is a sad aspect of lack of respect for younger practitioners among the more intolerant members of the site. Not everyone disregards someone based on age. But there certainly are some that do. Judge someone on the measure of their wisdom not of the time they spent acquiring that wisdom.

myself, i don't judge based on age, just because i see someone's fourteen, i don't roll my eyes and block them from ever speaking to me. i hear what they have to say and judge by that. i've met teens starting out and are confused, teens who are starting out and are rather advanced, some who were born into paganism and grasp things as well, if not better than me. yes i have met the 'i am part demon part wolf part faerie and have lived for centuries fear my power bwahahaha' types, but they come in all ages.

it is sad many will write people off, not just for age if if someone just asked 'i like vampires, will this turn me into a vampire spell work' and about half the people jump down the person's throat. they asked a question, if they were rude or demanding, i'd see why their was such a negative response, but it was an innocent question. age doesn't really factor into being a witch it's knowledge. sure, elders tend to teach but that's because they've studied longer so therefore know more. not all mind, i know of adults who act as though they just started learning yet have been practicing for years.

i'm sorry if you've gotten some negativity from being young, but myself, i don't think you deserve it. you seem to know what you're talking about and are serious about your craft. also, speaking in full sentences without resorting to text speak is a plus in my book.

Sparkle the fact itself that you have created this thread very clearly shows that you are indeed a teenager ,for it is driven from emotions .If you want people to take you seriouslly despite your age i will advice you to to stop explaining yourself to adults .That is my input as adult .If you want respect from adult you do not demand you show what you have got there and win it over .You do not simply demand or whin to gain it .And please try to not get overlyemotional ,do not take it personal or act superdiffensive toward my comment ,because all these only will confirm my first impression .And no i do not judge either i am giving you a clue for the reason you probbaly get this risponse from adults .It is worthy of respect the idea that you have put yourself outhere to help people as you can i must give you credit for that .And it is pretty much predictable what most of the teens will say here ,they simply will feel same as you ,however being a teen is not equal of being a fluff .If a teen or child shows to me maturity ,knowledge and selfcontrol i will take him or her seriously wth respect and even admiration for going against his/hers human nature in tender age that is not something done easy by all meanings .So you show me the skills I will get you very seriously same is valid for mature behaviour .

I don't judge by age or the time spent learning a thing. I judge by results and what you can actually do not just what you say you can do. I have no doubt that there are people in this world that can do all sorts of extrordanary things. Some very old and some very young. My point was that it takes years to learn somethings and in that time wisdom is gained and life long concepts learned. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. And that is wisdom. Remember Terry Goodkinds Wizards Rules. I think it is the second one that states that "the greatest of harm can result form the best of intentions." Good words to live by.
