All I can say is it is annoying to get these people saying " I want to be such a such " but there's a right way to deal with it . Not being rude and just say look I'm sorry but that's not possible , I wish it was but it isn't . Not go " fluff alert , fluff alert , did you know she / he is s fluff ?" . On the one hand I understand why mods are and why others are rude but not meaning to . I would also say this isn't everyone I see day to day examples of people dealing with it correctly . But my main point is . When where young most of us are told magic is real , then at a later age told its false . Now we know better but some of us had to re discover this . On a personal note call me fluff but untill I see a warewolf , vampire etc I will not belive in them but on the same hand if I don't see one I will belive in them . I'm a fence sitter as I call it . Untill , a report of evidence is sent to me to read I am not turned either way . Im a fair person or try to be and judge things of experience and facts . Try to keep opinions out of it .

Actually, Fire, I suggest you endeavor to understand the meaning of the word "impossible". You'll find that there are, in fact, quite a few things which fall under the definition of that word. Impossible is generally defined as something which goes against current proven facts, known laws, and otherwise is not capable of being done currently. For instance, currently you cannot turn into a dragon because your physical makeup is known to not work that way, and it's been proven that you cannot manipulate yourself in such a manner.

Kids are kids and should be allowed to fantasize without ridicule.

But this is a site called spells of magic, a name that enticed me because that is what I do and have always done.

I therefore can't understand why the fictional is even allowed to enter. How do I become a mermaid/vampire/werewolf/fairy etc are nothing at all to do with spells of magic, yet the serious minded of us have to put up with this completely unrelated pap on a daily basis, as though it somehow 'belongs' here. It doesn't. Why would it? Where is the connection?

Ultimately this is down to the site managers to deal with.

Kids fantasizing is fine when they go to a site meant for role players, but not when they are on a site like this and there fantasies start to steer true seekers, who aren't sure of things yet, away from the truth. They are a problem and are turning this site into a joke

Yeah I think so too that way they have time to mature enough to not be an issue, but really there aren't to many ways to enforce it unless the site does the credit card thing which I really don't think anybody would want to do.

If they had a way of enforcing it I would say 15 might be a fairer age. At 15 I had a pretty good grasp on reality.

Raincaller - from your profile I noticed you were born in 1997, so that would make you 15. As you state in your post that you have been on this site for 7 years did you join when you were 8 years old?

I'll state my opinion as such. For one, there are two forms of Fluff on this site. One is to be dealt with in one manner, the other in another.

Apparently, those who desire a specific outcome, deemed impossible, are the ones who are specifically being targeted by everyone here. In my opinion, these aren't the worst of the two. Instead, they are simple lacking in sufficient knowledge to know what magick is capable and what it is incapable of. They are new, and a lot of their knowledge, most likely, stems from media. In this way, it's fair to say that, instead of shunning them, we work towards educating them. After all, they don't know better and are here to try and find something. That's like telling a student who wants to learn that he/she can't enter a school because they don't know enough. It's ironic and oxymoronic of the site, which is suppose to serve as an educational grounds for all students of the occult. Part of this is bringing into light what is and is not possible within magick, according to what we currently understand and know.
Taking the earlier example, a student should not be banned or gagged because they are in error out of ignorance. If someone seeks help with something, and it's nonsensical, they don't know better (let's assume) and thus, it's an error that frankly, is justified due to media. Instead, it's a matter of educating and correcting errors. Limiting the age of allowance on the site is foolish, at best. Perhaps it's a good idea to some, but the young will find a way to enter regardless of how we try to deal with said issue. Allow a certain age group in, and thus many who are under will just lie about their age, it'll become another issue. The occult, or at least the basics of it, should be taught to those who are young and willing to have an open mind and grasp it.

Now, for the second form of fluff children, and not even only children but, sadly, even teens, we come to a real issue. It's not the kids who want to be magickal creatures that are the real problem, instead it's those who claim that they already are said creatures. I've come across enough "vampires, werewolves, demons, angels, half demons" etc. on this site to drive me mad. These are the people who are truly causing problems because they are serving only to misinform those who wish to learn but are very easily swayed due to ignorance and naivety. It is these people who are causing a problem because they are stunting, tarnishing, and ruining the purpose of this site with their foolishness and misinformation. These are not even limited by age, so again, restricting age group will not do any good at all.
Instead, these are the people who we should work on removing, because they are taking those who are just learning and guiding them onto stupid and foolish paths.

This is my opinion on the matter, I do hope it's read (even though it's probably a bit lengthy) and that we see in which people the real issue is located. Enough attacking those who just don't know better, it's best to deal with those who are causing such confusion and misdirection. The biggest crime is the tarnishing of truth, not the confusion of it.
