Another thing to look into is nutrition. Processed foods can, and do, wreak havoc on our bodies. An example would be simple candy. If you are used to eating so much sugar everyday, then stop suddenly, your body will show negative effects. Continuing with this sugar (which has so many names such as sucrose and dextrose) can cause sickness like diabetes, hypoglycemia, and digestive problems. Good proper non-processed foods are better for the body and will aid in keeping you healthy, along with balancing the body's many chemicals, functions, and just plain feeling good. Its true; we are what we eat. Add good foods to your diet while eliminating bad foods, and you will begin to feel better. Change gradually, so your body can get used to it.
Hope this helps.

A very good supplement that is actually a prescribed med in Europe, but is over the counter in the states is called SAM-e. It has helped me TREMENDOUSLY! It is on the expensive side, but it is so worth it! Try Amazon or even your local Walgreens or health food store. Hang in there. Depression sucks. You can check with your city and see about inexpensive counseling depending upon your income. Spellcasting wise; yellow candles (any type) with High John oil or Road Opener oil - also you can burn Blockbuster candles (this is Hoodoo so if you do not know Hoodoo you will not know what I am talking about). Write a petition on a brown paper bag stating what you want intention wise. Get a picture of yourself when you felt happy and not depressed at all. Put it under the candle(s) and burn it. I let my candles burn down in my bathtub. I do not let the work stop. If you do not have this luxury then snuff it out and begin it the next day or night. Hang in there, girl. xoxo

Depression can be a lifetime struggle for many. Even when it is under control, it can pop back up again later in life for many different reasons.

The first thing anyone should do is to seek out advice from a medical professional. This can be done by speaking with your PCP. Sometimes they can even prescribe something mild to try to see if this helps stabilize your mood. Another great resource and many areas offer sliding scale (if you don't have insurance)is a therapist. Some employers even offer several annual sessions included as part of your benefits so check. There is nothing wrong with seeing a therapist. It is actually very healthy to speak with a non-biased individual to give you insight on things that you may have otherwise not considered.

Once you have a good handle on things you can use resources on this site to continue to help you with your health. Some excellent herbs and teas can be used for drinking and burning that help with a cleansing atmosphere, as well as relaxing. Another excellent concept to consider is light therapy. Many don't realize or consider the amount of time they spend in front of a computer or screen. With the winter months approaching the day light is less and less and often causes seasonal depression. Using a therapy light for at least 15 minutes a day is a simple solution. Also speak to your PCP about taking a vitamin D supplement, as sometimes this can made a big difference in how you feel. This can be bought over the counter, but I would always check with your PCP before staring a high regimen.

Hopefully some of these suggestions can help you out. If you are considering herbs and tea, there are many resources on this site as well as a general search engine to find out the healing properties of some plants. Always research first to decided which you want to try.

Good luck!

Thank you all so much for all your kind words of support, advice and suggestions. I am on anti depressants I have been for 3 years and I have also had 6 months of counselling. I previously had counselling and medication at the age of 15. At 15 it took me 6 months to feel better. This time round it has been 3 years and no significant changes. I do affirmations, grounding exercises, meditation. I try to keep my mind positive listening to people like Abraham Hicks. Exercise, healthy eating none of it has made a sustainable difference. I used to self harm which to be honest helped relieve some anguish but the scars on my arm were getting ridiculous so I made myself stop. Last night I wrote letters goodbye to my best friend and two sisters. I picked a card from an oracle pack and it said to sleep on it. I have and I don't feel any different. I'm at my wits end now. Thank you all so much again. It's a beautiful thing that strangers can be so supportive! I really do appreciate it.
