Izzie, with love and respect, I raise an eyebrow as to you mentioning you are turning to spells as a last resort, the statement should be "I am turning to magic because I have the power within me to turn things around". Your child is having no fun without you at all. They want revenge and would like to see you in pain. The best thing to do is just let them be until their personal strike is over. If it has been a month+, I suggest yelling at the child to come back, or get the authorities to make her/him come back. Life - mother/father = terrible future life. It's just the math.
