Starting Out

Quick question and it may have already been answered somewhere: but what are some basic spells that anyone would recommend for beginners?

WOW I just started like literally a few hours ago and have tried to do spells but failed but I know to keep trying and this post was really helpful thanks xD

very nice post stari I've been practicing and studying magick for 15 years and I learned something new tonight! haha thanks for that.

One thing I like to do before each spell-casting, since I can't cast a large circle around the room, or even have a physical circle cast (which would be best for me) I like to combine the meditation part with a sort of visualization of a circle casting of a bubble/circle around myself in which I am protected to do my spellwork, and which will also contain the energy until I am ready to direct it and send it forth. I've also done this for years since I lived in houses with people that weren't comfortable with witchcraft or spellcasting.

Doing this has proven to be the most effective for me, and I don't even visualize easily; I simply feel the energy and/or circle as I cast it, and think it into being, knowing that it is there without seeing it.

That is a perfect explanation. I believe that meditation and believing are both important for casting a spell. :)

exactly crimson! can't really have the results (not very much anyway) without the belief. I am getting better at the visualization, though, but I still favor the practice of writing down a wish or desire and releasing it into the air in ritual by burning the paper and letting the universe disperse the energy to where it is needed in order to bring my wish or desire into being. as you can see i tend to go for the simple and not so much the grand, but isn't it the simplest spells that pack the most punch? at least in my experience.
