As I said my first post onlysounded really upset because of the way it translated from Russian first, I only realised this when my friend read it and told me. It was meant to say that I didn't see the joke but then my friend explained it to me and now i get it, sorry for sounding upset (lol i know thats what the text speech but i couldn't think how else to laugh)
it really can be hard to understand what some people are talking about though. A lot of the times it isn't poor spelling, it is lack of proper sentence structure. If you can not make yourself at lest seem half way intelligible on a site that is clearly in English...step out and post in your own tongue, and I won't complain about your spelling or your grammar because I won't know the first thing about it.
Yakov, you did very well with you spelling(even if you did use spell check.) And your grammar was fine too. I understood everything you said.
But there are some (no names) that wouldn't make sense even if I did switch the words around to put them so the made even a little more sense. And my main issue here, is only trying to decipher a question or a problem. How do I know the answer, if I can't even read the question?
poglabajte mi racku keve vam se krvave najebem, prevedite mi ovo praznoglavi degeni ili ce vam se mame okretati na kurcini od cetrdeset centi, jel moze??
if it isnt problem...
There is nothing wrong with needing a translator, or using spell check...especially if English is not your native tounge. I fault no one for that.
My annoyance was more to the people who are currently getting an education in my country and cannot take the time to communicate in a proper and effective manner.
Communication is not only the most important thing between people, but also the most basic. I expect spelling errors. I get kinda annoyed when there is no punctuation. But when you combined the two, I want to go to people's English teachers and smack the crap out of them for failing as an educator.
It's very difficult to see people asking for help, and you can't make heads or tails of what it is they need help with.
Hooked on phonics apparently doesn't work for everyone.
Nekron...ummm...okay? But that's my point. I can't tell you what you said, or if it was spelled right, or if the words are in the right order...and for some it may as well have been an attempt at English, because I have just as much of a chance of figuring it out. At least when you go the english route, Nekron, I can add a verb in somewhere and get it. :D
LOL God rested on the seventh day because he thought he had created an intelligent species that could think and educate themselves. I guess he is kicking himself now at what we have become.
I too grow weary of the mass amounts of posts that contain gross misspellings, no punctuation, and lack of sentence structure. I believe with all our wonderful advancements as a race we also have take many steps backward. Firefox is a great internet browser that has spell check built right in. It is wonderful to have it underline the words it does not recognize and then with a right click of the mouse it will give you a list of words you might have been trying to spell.
Proof reading is another way to make sure you are communicating in the best way possible. I find that many younglings have a hard time with this and much work needs to be done to strengthen their skills.
This is coming from a dyslexic that does not hide behind their disability but finds ways to work around it. There are tools that one can obtain to further their education, you just have to be willing to find and use them.
