I mean I would like to hear it but is there a way to make it stop if it starts to freak me out?

try chakra work, focusing on your third eye. enhancing your psychic abilities will help you hear it better. if the spirit freaks you out, kindly explain you feel intimidated or scared and if the spirit minds not talking to you for a bit, or if you want to ask it to leave you can also do that.

If the spirit will not leave you alone when asked, learn to shield yourself and you can block out the unwanted communication.

I a good hearty banishing should push them out of the area, and warding your home and using a personal shielding technique will help prevent them from coming back.

They may not like it, but most spirits are harmless and they'll eventually get the message and go find someone else to try and talk to.

Maybe you could try using a pendulum to get some yes/no answers & find out what it is & what it wants. Always draw a protective circle around yourself first & specify that you only want to speak to that particular spirit.

I have found that when you can hear them trying to communicate with you, but you have trouble understanding it helps to use Quartz crystal. It acts as an amplifier and does wonders for me.
