Maybe start by respecting him. Summoning wouldn't be the word I'd look for if trying to work with him, maybe have an offering and be respectful. He's not just some spirit. You shouldn't try to force him to be present. Maybe pray to him, have an altar for him, make offerings. And call to him. But trying to "summon" him seems as if you are trying to force his presence.
Silentsyren has a good point. The being of Lucifer has had several roles in the history of Christian faith. There is Lucifer the light bearer, angel of song and pride. Lucifer the rebellious angel who fought against god. Lucifer the devil who works to corrupt mislead and destroy the morals of man. And Lucifer the fallen angel still serving god's will by acting as his antithesis so humans can have choice and therefore free will. ... Among other more complex interpretations of his role both positive and negative.
The first step for you would be to study the history and roles of lucifer. You want to understand precisely what you are asking for when calling for the presence of a neing like this one. In a way his nature is malleable, as his nature and role can differ from moment to moment depending on what you as an indivitual want him to be. So one must be very careful and Self aware in their interactions.
Such a calling is certainly never to be attempted frivolously or for fun. Be absolutely certain that you want to engage in the act, then prove you are serious about it by taking the time needed. Which, depending on the individual, can be a few years of study if you want to do it right.
Read either/or both "The Munich Manual of Demonic Magic" as well as the "Grand Grimoire". Summoning any demon is dangerous enough, I would advise studying, studying and more studying. IF it is possible to summon him personally, I am doubtful he will just want to chat.
I do not, under any circumstances, recommend that anyone with less than a couple years worth of experience studying this field and the fields that surround it, should attempt or set out to achieve the ambition of summoning anything. Serious mental, physical, and emotional damage can occur and has occurred both for amounts of time varying between long and short.
In layman's terms, don't do it you will get hurt and this applies to more than just Lucifer. Don't invite what you can't dismiss. If you do end up summoning him without the proper precautions and safeguards in place, he is manipulative and he knows how to get what he wants, whatever it is. That's my personal experience with him and others will have their own.
If you are serious about this what I will recommend is that you start by studying his origins. Understand where he comes from and why that has helped shaped who he is now. Get to know and understand him like you would a stranger that you jive with. Continue doing this but once you've built yourself up a basic understanding start studying banishing. You're doing it the other way around right now. Study banishing and try to understand and recognize where the precautions and safeguards come into play. Look into different sorts of banishings and memorize them. This being done studying summoning from there; what to expect, other people's experiences, methods, etc etc.
It'll take time but if you do it right, you will be successful.
