I can feel the force following from this thread the longer it gets and the more people who join in the conversation. I have a "new hope" that we are moving in a direction that will bring balance to the force that has been prophesied in many ways! ;)
As for the Sith we must remember that they are the same as the jedi just with different ideas. Like angels and demons they are the same kinds of beings. We all are the same kind of being no matter what we look like on the outside and all can be either a jedi or a sith if that is out destiny. Not all of us will reach that goal some will never even make it to a youngling. But if you find yourself reading this and enjoying it then I can say that you are most defiantly at least a youngling :D
As for the future a jedi padawan would understand that it is not set in stone but that there are many futures that can come out of any minute. In the end the force will always end up correcting it's self.

This is a reference to Fate/Destiny. You can not escape your Destiny so it is better to just accept the way things are and try to make the best of everything that happens, but this doesn't mean you should sit on the couch and let the world slip by. (here's the part for you to listen to Ron) We do have some measure of control when it comes to Fate, what is meant to be will be, but how it will be is for us to decide. There are no accidents, no mistakes, everything happens for a reason, (here's the main part) but we do have the power to decide when and where some of these things will come to pass.
Nothing is set in stone, but things that are meant to be will be. Some things are inevitable and "there are no mistakes, no accidents, everything happens for a reason" means everything is leading toward something that can't be avoided.
Naturally, as with ANY religion, the beliefs of Jediism can be twisted or misunderstood. Reality is as you perceive it to be.
Master Kts; We are all younglings, that doesn't really have any specifics to do with the Jedi. A youngling is anyone who is still young of age/experience, a Jedi is anyone who follows the beliefs of the Jedi, a Jedi Padawan/Apprentice is a person who follows the Jedi beliefs and has a specific individual/group of teachers, a Jedi Knight is a Jedi who has become experienced in the ways of the Jedi and practices the codes of chivalry, a Jedi Master is a Jedi who has completed all the basic trainings and beliefs. A Jedi Master does not know everything, however, even Master Yoda in the movies didn't know everything at 912yrs old. It is a Jedi's responsibility to be constantly learning, even as they teach and hold the title of 'master'.
But you are right that Sith and Jedi are one in the same, the Jedi teachings actually use the Yin-Yang symbol to express this. Just as so many things create balance by existing together and working as one, so too do the Jedi and the Sith. They are opposites creating balance within the same body, everyone who practices the ways of the Jedi have a little Sith in them and every Sith has a little Jedi inside as well.
And you are right about the Jedi Padawan as well.
Don't worry about it. I do that sometimes too, sometimes I forget that many people often require more specifics then the more experienced on a certain topic may require.
lol, I think we both are to inexperienced to be called masters yet. I was mostly calling you that from your first post, because of how you said people were teasing you.
I myself never have and most likely never will believe in destiny evreything is predetermind pretty much makes me feel like i dont have a choice in what i do it will always end out the same
You have a choice in what you do, we all have a choice in what we do. You decide what you will have for lunch, you decide what job you are going to choose, but all these decisions activate smaller things that can help lead up to one big thing. Fate/Destiny is a complex web of happenings and mishappenings that all add up to something. The phrase "There are no accidents, no mistakes, everything happens for a reason" applies for when things seem to go wrong. More often then not when something goes wrong it leads to something better, but this is only if you take Fate into your own hands and let that something better happen. Fate and Destiny can open doors for you, close doors for you, and often confuse you, but in the end it either controls you or you control it. That choice is yours as well.
Lightsabers aren't really a part of Jedi teachings, Mef. The Jedi religion is based on becoming a better person and becoming more in tune with the natural, physical world around you.

Though for interest of balance, I'm going to take a crack at "corrupting" these Jedi teachings for Sith purposes ;)
1) Do not think in the moment, think and rethink every move.
2) Lay the groundwork for the future each day, look ever foreward.
3) The energy of the world is part of your being. Control your power, and you control everything.
4) Anger and negativity are power. Fuel your heart to greater heats, and no barrier can stand before you.
5) Passion will break your bonds, and wisdom is gained through power. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
6) Putting the needs of others, above the needs of the self, drains away your vitality to the masses. If you serve the needs of others, others will drain you dry. Look to thine own self, be true to your needs.
7) The power of emotion cannot be denied. To deny anger is to deny yourself. Embrace its energy and better understand your nature.
8) The channeling of energy drains the body. Always replenish the self and sustain the body. The mind is great, but subservent to the bodys needs.
9) If you cause circumstance, every reason happens by you.
10) Nothing ever truly ends. Adaptation allows manipulation and mastery of the changing situations. Do not change for the moment. Change the moment for you.
