okay as promised before i will start the offensive part of the lesson. as i said before a shield can be a wall, sphere, dome or convex layer or any shape that protects you, now i will go a little more in depth.
Many have asked about duels, i must say that they do occur and do not operate like u may see on a cartoon. You do not physically see your protective barrier unless you posses the ability of seeing energy like auric sight.
So what is a duel?
A duel is magickal combat between two or more witches who normally intend to defend and disarm their opponent from harming them, they can use binding spells to try to bind the opponents power (a bind is a special spell that some what puts your magickal talents under "lock and key") a witch who is more knowledgeable has them most advantage, cause breaking a spell can be sometimes tricky. You have to understand what type of spell was cast to first understand how to break it and sometimes you will require a little brains with it. You can normally break another witches spell by writing your own spell to counteract it and with the use of appropriate herbs. Of course by now you should understand that a powerful witch has a strong resistance to spells that are projected from weaker witches, although it is very possible to defeat a witch stronger than your self.

The following is just a extreme scenario but quite possible, this is just recaps from old magickal conflicts over past years.
lets say a witch jane has a disagreement with another Catherine, after normal affairs of dispute etc, Catherine decides to place a curse upon Jane's cows and cause them not to produce milk. Jane who is fully aware of the arts realizes that Catherine was responsible. So Jane reversed her curse and shielded her self. Jane in anger casted a nasty curse that burned Catherine's house
This extreme example just shows how bad a duel can get, hence some people look at them as barbaric. Although duels can be used as practice they are normally just like a scuffle between to people just on a magickal scale more info next time
it is true that powerful casters can bind you but you are never actually powerless if you know you inner strength. Things that fuel a witches power

Taking this into consideration you can know in time how to use your own will to break a bind or ask the earth to break it for u. Its more common for another witch to ask a next for help due to their lack of confidence in their own power. If you are new will power and other methods will not work as good as an older witch. Experience and knowldege are your greatest keys that much i can say with out releasing my secrets. Sry my techniques are classified. What i can tell you keep a reserve of your own energy in a seperate place in case of a binding.
Hi I have been speed reading thru some of your Sheilding 101 posts. Its opened up a can of worms now. So I am full of questions. Here goes. I seem to have gotten my world turned upside down. I am losing everything, house, money, vehicle, relationship is a mess. Is it possible someone did something to me? If they did could it have been avoided by a sheild? If yes do I need to get to work on that? If I do need to get to work on that, if I go back and read "Sheilding 101" will it take me thru the steps? Sorry if you read my profile you will see what I know which is not a whole lot. I am just starting.
Well sugar its a possibility, sometimes it can just be life its self but when everything seems odd and unexplained we can say black magick (magick has no colour really) was used. Shields are a casters basic tools to prevent themselves or minimize the impact from others trying to harm them. I will say to u make sure and meditate regular, this increases your power significantly, a powerful witch only becomes as strong with practice, meditation and belief in their own power. If it is to some reason that some one has done an evil deed upon you, you can shield your self and family from harm. Project your heart to the universe and remember there is no evil that is stronger than good, a mother's love for her children is one of the purest love. No spell can come between that and so u should use such a love with your own magick to shield your family. (if you have children )
Been a fair amount of time since i have bothered to reply to a post let alone correct a few things.
Starters as you are well aware now Serp from our discussion in the chatter illusion shields can be used as a means of physical attack without the use of programming them the way in which to do this is by creating an illusion shield in the form of one energy ball or multiple meaning when a practitioner tries to locate you they will see a magnitude of energy balls coming at them and because fear is the strongest weapon you can have over someone their own fear creates the illusion to be real thus they end up harming themselves when in fact it was the shield caster they were trying to harm.
And as for the binding question cant remember who asked it but yes you can break from a binding and i would strongly agree with the last thing Serp said being keeping a storage of your energy elsewhere thus allowing you to tap into it if you have been bound to release yourself from it.
Or another useful technique is to link yourself up to an elemental source of energy. Example being Earth Water Wind etc by doing this not only will the practitioner have to bind your own energy but that of a never ending energy of an element which by now you should see where this is going making it impossible for you to ever be bound if you have linked yourself with an element
