First of all you can put the two together but never do them on the same day. They both stretch your muscles and weightlifting is designed to tear you muscles down and then rebuild them. So your chances of injuring yourself are at a higher state. Secondly yes mountin pose is supposed to ground you in a way. In martial arts I believe it is reffered to as finding your center. Or focusing yourself for the task. But it is not just the move itself that is the point here its the overall result. A regular yoga practice can start to gradually open your chakra flow in your body by opening each of your energy centers one by one. Then with your mind following the flow of the energy you learn a second important skill and that is directing the energy flow around in your body.

Ill send you them as I go. Do each one to start getting used to them. These are the basics. Eventually you'll put them together into groups and do them in sequence. For more detailed instructions Google Basic Yoga Poses. There are all kinds of sights that list them with instructions.

From Mounting pose raise your arms up above your head and continue to stretch upward. Keep your arms in a V shape straight. This is Volcano pose.

I can but Id like to post it so others can see. Each move corrasponds to a different chakra pool or energy center. Starting with the sacral. It is located at the very bottom of the spine. This is the one called the root.
