For saltwater, epsom salt and water also works, that's how I cleanse my things, if you want to bury it after you use salt water that works too.

You need to be respectful when disposing of magickal material. They should be placed in the garden, in the dirt with a small offering to the powers that be. A coin is acceptable, or a food offering.

I'm lazy when it comes to dispelling spell materials. I imagine the energy being removed from the object(s) and returned to the creator. The physical object usually goes in the garbage. If you feel it needs to be handled differently, you can also bury it.
