Yes meditation, visualization, correspondences, and so on. Cunningham is a very good place to start if you are more of a nocturnal individual you might wish to try reading some of the books by Konstantinos such as Gothic Grimoire and Nocturnal Witchcraft. Epic, dragons don't exist, at least not on this plane. Also, about "demons" being "evil", spirits, which is what most people mean when they say "demon" aren't evil, just resentful of being used.
