So would this then mean that frost giants were the first beings to come into existence? And if so, are there any alive still from that time? Does the place still exist? (To be accessible by journeying of course) I find many of the giants and such pretty interesting. I find many Norse concepts interesting in fact.

Some of the first. It's actually thought the oldest being is Surt, who is the Lord of the Fire Jotun. The fire and ice jotun both appeared around the same time.
And if so, are there any alive still from that time? Does the place still exist? (To be accessible by journeying of course).
Yes, the jotunfolk in general are still alive. There are several realms on the world tree, Yggdrasil, that are inhabited by the jotun and are accessible through pathwalking/journeying.
You know what I just (sadly) realized? The description of creation in Norse lore actually aligns with an ice covered planet reaching into a galaxy and the heat from that particular sun melting the ice over time. I've heard of associations between our solar system and Yggdrasil's realms, but I've never looked at it that way. The frost giants of said 'planet' could be associated with single celled organisms that grew over time and the sparks from Muspelheim being solar flares. As Niflheim settled into the galaxy, it created atmospheres and from it, life on other planets until eventually, Midgard was made from Ymir's body.
Also it is said that when first the north and south touched there was an explosion so intense and full of energy (like droping an ice cube into a furnace) it shot ice and ash and water and fire into the air that slowly fell back down as thick clay and mud to eventually form the body of Ymir. This could be the old norse culture understanding and embracing the idea of the Big Bang far before the Christian world. Also Ginnungagap still exists all around what is known in existence (the nine worlds). Odin pulled the runes from the void by basically wrenching open the one way door that exists from the everexpancive void to the nine worlds. But normally when things are ready the door will open and new things will come into existence. But now the four stags stand at igdrasil to keep anyone else from pulling open the door forcefully and allowing chaotic spirits from the yawning void to enter before their time.
