Choosing a side to go with, what works for you or what you prefer or what have you, if fine and all. It's what people do. People tend to lean twards what works for them. WhiteRav3n has a nice point on taking it all for what it's worth and having balance. In truth you cannot have light without darkness; and vice versa. That's life. That's forces of energy. Etc. There's a positive and there's a negative. One is no more evil/bad nor good than the other. What makes it positive or negative is the methods in which we go about things. The darkness can be just as positive as the light can be, just as the light can be just as negative as the darkness can be. Neither is good nor evil. Good and evil is a label slapped upon the foreheads of our actions, deeds, thoughts, words, etc. Mere opinions spoken in one form or another. But I digress. So, on to the balance point. Choosing one over the other creates an imbalance. It's simple logic. You choose light over darkness and you work with the light. Therein grows more light that becomes the majority. You choose darkness, darkness grows, shadowing out the light, to be the majority. Thus an imbalance. Work with them evenly and accept it for what it is and you create an even ballance. Along with more knowledge. A higher understanding. More opportunity. Just a few examples. Some beliefs say that one cannot find true enlightenment until (s)he come to an equilibrium of light and dark.
Light has its own existence because of darkness. Darkness exist within the lights' beauty. Without darkness there is no light and without light there is no darkness. Evil and good are the two most essential things that can't not exist without the bonds of their creation.
In other words because of death and darknes that is within this world we live life at the fullest appreciating every single moment of it.
Darkness has the power to make humans stronger. The pain, sadness, sorrow, hate, and rancor in our life makes us want to fight back. Making us immune from life's pains.
Darkness that is surround by one humans makes life miserable but it gives us the power to stand up when we fall down because we are used to the dark path. The painful memories of the past makes us a strong person so as a revenge.
We are human and humans are the most brutal animal alive. We are a brutal nature we kill to get what we want we betray those we love to fulfill our needs. Even if that person is a part of you.
Because of our brutality we were able to build strong empires over the past years. Because of our cruelty we were able to develop in a stage were no animal alive could ever increment.
Everyone has a darkness a sad past a monster in them those pains of isolations makes us grow into adults.
Everyone has darkness inside them and your not whole unless you embrace it as it is pointless to deny part of yourself and in my mind makes you weak or weaker than you would be if you acknowledged the darkness within. I choose light more so over darkness if your referring to good & evil due to religious beliefs, faith, and honestly fear but we all give into darkness at times and it can feel good. I can sympathize with the hunger for power as most experience this in some form. I enjoyed reading the above posts and share similar options. Also on another note on choosing light or darkness it feels good to help others and that would obviously be on the side of light. Simply helping someone in a small way can make you feel good, but darkness can make you also feel good if you hurt someone. It's a very tempting force, belief, etc...
'dead spirits' kind of an oxymoron wouldn't you say?
while 'darkness' isn't the same as 'evil' many see it that way. personally, i feel everyone is born 'good' then at some point most rebel and see 'evil' as cool. so they dress in black and say dark things and do 'bad' things and convince others they're 'evil'. personally, i never associated myself with good or evil, i see myself as someone who sees balance of both in everyone and everything, some choose to be more of one than the other, and i strive for balance of the two. i listen to some people on youtube [in the atheist community if you must know] who talk about peoples views on God, and one argument they've addressed is people who see nature as God [which i do to an extent] they point out you need to use everything nature has to offer as proof of God, the nice things like rainbows with the not so nice things like natural disasters. that's what i do, you have to see both sides, nothings perfect, nothings black and white. i find it naive to be 'dark equals evil, therefore i love the darkness' because it's not true. if someone wishes to study 'black magic' and chooses to follow a different path that's fine with me, so long as they don't do it because 'evil is cool, and people will think i'm cool.' or some juvenile reasoning along those lines. i've always believed if you've found solace in a religion, that's fine, just don't turn your mind off and become a blind follower, and don't force others to follow your views.
