Actually the Satanists don't use the pentagram.

They use an upside down star with the downward point longer or(elongated) than the rest of the points.

If you do a quick google search for the "Sigil of Baphomet", you will see that the lower point of the star is not elongated, but the same length as the other points.

I was going to say that the pentacle is the one with the circle. Its really important than you know the difference.

If the Satanists "steal" such things, you could also argue that the pagans "stole" the Greek Gods from the Ancient Greeks, the Roman Gods from the Romans, and the Egyptian Gods from the Ancient Egyptians.

Many people want to jump on the pentacle and pentagram to use in the "magical world". The cross is just as powerful. What about the ankh? Hey, look at that SATOR square! Runes anyone?

There are a myriad of symbols used in the "magical world." The pentagram/pentacle are just the most spammed.
