Smnthing needs to be done

Quantum Physics, and Quantum Mechanics are two different scientific things i believe.

But the point of my post is that something needs to be done about all the "fluff" that goes on on this site. Many people actually do come to this site looking to be able to turn into vampires and various supernatural creatures they see on TV. Most, if not all, of them accept the fact that they cant. So they argue and say that nothing has been proved otherwise, and magic can do what you want it to, and if you work at it hard enough itll happen. But that isnt the case.

How about you tell us what YOU think magic can do, and what YOU do with magic right now. Do you think that with due time, and practice that you can do a spell that will turn you into an undead creature with fangs that lives on human blood? Do you think that in due time and with the right practice you can travel to a different dimension? or summon a physical demon to appear right in front of your face and talk to you? None of that is possible, and as a serious magic practicioner like i assume you to be, you should know and understand that. Please dont argue and argument where you arent making any sense.


Back to what my initial point was and still is. Something needs to be written up, where all newcomers to this site should see.

these creatures were real. wether there real now or not does dot matter. i do agree that hollywood has change magic and distorted it. the ancient art of magic should not be altered by these people. you can not say a few words and then suddenly a thing pops up in frount of you. these people that will not use real magic should be band from this sight and also the one that put fake spells online. this is not a joke.

I agree with you heywatsup123, but it would take days or even weeks to look through each and every spell and delete the role-playing ones. But I think if the coven named "Spell Casters" was deleted or even had a selected council then none of this would have happened. I know that there is some in that coven that want to learn, but can't due to to many role-players.

Magic can do many things, including but not limited to what the imagination can conjure up. However, its completely up to the individual to actually learn how to do these things, which require practice, discipline, and some down time to relax.

Now, I never said anything about vampire spells. From my conclusion, they are ineffective and do not work. You notice there, I have not said it's impossible ;) And yes, in due time, I do see inter-dimensional travel quite possible in the physical. So far, those who have experience with projecting can vouch for this on the astral and etheric ;) Now, in order for a physical manifestation to occur for the demon, a lot of things have to take place first, but I will not claim it impossible.

Maybe that BECAUSE the site has, at best, some 'unrealistic' spells, it therefore teaches *Discernment*, a very valuable lesson in any subject, in my view :)

I agree to that Zebrah. Real practicioners of real magic who take the craft seriously are able to discern real spells from fluffy ones. and that is a very valuable lesson...however, newcomers to this site who want to learn to transform into something other then human, or accomplish powerful things seen in movies, or want a "beginner spell" without doing basics, arent able to discern the fluffy from the non fluffy.

It certainly isn't doing anything for the reputation of the site, to have so many 'walter mitty' characters who seem to have spent too much time in their bedrooms, asking unrealistic and frankly daft questions based on television series they may have watched. There is a question in my mind concerning whether the internet really is the best place to get advice (or even information) on *anything at all* (not just magick, spellwork and witchcraft), due to the huge quantity of conflicting information which flies around it. This isn't a comment on SoM, but on the whole medium.

I know of several really good and reliable book lists for people who are seriously interested in learning, and who are prepared to to the work (of practice as well as of reading), but I do agree that sometimes the best thing to do for people is to tell them that what they are looking to achieve, can't be achieved.
