I was a little upset to see "novice" when magick has been apart of my entire life but then I saw that Zebrah was a novice as well. And that made me feel better because I know she's no novice! I actually think its done by post count and has nothing to do with actual knowledge. Every forum can have set post requirements for special titles. I have it myself on a board of my own. Since I've only been here for three months or so, I wouldn't have as large of a post count as those who have been here for years.
I think it would be better to see kudos points. For those who don't know, that's where people give you a thumbs up or down on your posts or profile to say whether they like you or not. Fluffies would automatically have lower points because everyone would immediately flag them for poor content.
Fluffy? Do you think this is fair? Why say I'm fluffy because I don't always agree? Why not just say I am a liar and never told anybody what I truly belive to be true? I no longer belive in transformations, but I still can belive in a dragon in the physical world if I want. I try to say what I belive is true, and if I'm wrong to you, then thats not my fault. I understand novice, but fluffy after so long? I study, and I can belive what I want. You can call me what you please, but I know what I'm talking about. Just because I state what I belive, doesn't mean I'm trying to send newcomers the wrong way. You have your choice- agree that I'm not lying but I at least am mistaken, or say I'm a liar and prove that being a know-it-all doesn't mean you know it all. Your choice, and best of luck.
Earso, there's no use crying over the fact that you believe that which has been constantly proven false. Maybe work hard, post informative , non-angry posts and eventually you will not be labeled as fluffy anymore.
Bloodmage, who proved it false? Because you cannot prove anything false, but you can prove things true. If somthing is false, then more expirements might show proof, but they havn't happened yet, also, only the beggining was angry. The rest was diplomacy.
If you take that approach then you can say ANYTHING is real. But if werewolves, vampire etc. were real, we would definitely have media covered footage of them. The only "footage" we have is shaky, blurry, likely faked and if not it's so blurry that the supposed "werewolf" or other mythical creature could just be a person wearing a cape or howling. And you CAN'T change species through magic, people have tried,very powerful people who were the most likely to succeed and failed. And even if it's possible, if experts can't do it, how can young ones hope to. Now I don't know what kind of "fluffiness" you got badly rated for but i think i've covered most of it.
Like Pet says in his thread about this new feature, don't be upset by a lower ranking, this just kicked off yesterday and it needs time to develop. Everyone started off low, it will pick up. If you don't feel that you deserve a low rank, it will go up. This is more than just one person judging everyone, you'll see in time, it's still being ironed out. Some may not be able to see it yet, but some of us can already see the good this is doing for the site, just take a look at the chatter and compare it to last week. I'm going to remain hopefully that this will be a positive experience for the site and its members. :)
