yah really.. and about my own experiences with them..
i always ask them to offer their assistance to me whenever i deal with personal problems and upon praying and doing rituals to them (especially to father satan and my guardian) i suddenly felt their positive energy and every night azazel talks to me in my dreams.. and i'm still here.. flesh and blood.. without scratch..
The Sumerian gods were not the first gods. They are just one of the oldest human settlements that have been excavated and understood through an exploration of their writing system. If you want to look at the "first gods" I suggest cave paintings. Further, the concept of the Sumerian gods has been largely ruined by works of fiction such as the Necronomicon, which is rooted in no historical fact.
Demons have been portrayed as devil since the Persian influence was first applied to the word. Zoroastrianism was largely responsible for this as the first recognized monotheistic faith, as it became to denounce Devas and such as evil when settlements worshiped local Devas and so forth rather than the acceptable "good" god. Much of this influence and practice poured into Hebrew mythology and the mythology of surrounding cultures until "demon" came to mean evil spirit.
You will see other cultures speak of demons or evil spirits but this is mostly due to translation. The word demon widely being accepted as meaning "evil spirit" is therefore commonly used to translate other similar concepts into English.
Medieval politics and religion further influences all of this, cementing the concepts of modern demonology as the study of the various "biblical" demons. It's worth noting that most of these evil entities are not at all mentioned in the bible, and that in nearly all Christian sects these other texts are generally considered apocryphal unless they were accepted into church cannon/doctrine during the witch hunts or were created as part of various church-sponsored "sciences" during the mid-ages.
I also see, repeatedly in these forums, mention that "summoning" is rude.
Again, I will point out that it is not necessarily the case. Obviously forcing something, or the aspect of something, into your presence and making demands will be irritating. However it is also worth noting that rarely does such an entity actually send forth it's whole being, or whole attention, to one location. Why would it?
As such, if treated with the proper courtesies and ritual, it will often view summoning without much distaste, if not favorably. There is a reason for the formal processes of High Magic. Skip them and make demands and claims, then of course you will irritate beings who do not recognize or respect the short cuts and minimal effort you put into your ritual work.
Thanks for clearing some facts for us ^^. It gets tiring hearing how demons are "evil" when you have gotten help from one. Personally i call it calling over summoning. I just ask if one wants to come over and chat.
And an entity can be bound to an object. It's ability to break free depends a great deal upon its willpower/sentience/enlightenment, and your ability to hold it in place with your own, backed by various seals and other powers.
And no, I won't tell you how to do it. If you're going to make such efforts, you should be willing to do the research and work to learn. Otherwise you're not ready.
